Copying my intro from my profile, I've never been great at ice breakers

Hello!

Please feel free to call me Dulcet, Musings, or DM. I'm 31, She/Her, LGBT+, UTC-7, and I've been RPing since I was... 11? 12? Painful to admit how time flies. I am a returning college student on the path to my second degree, and work part time. I also have an extensive career as an artist, though the passion has left for a while (part of the reason for the second degree), and I create character playlists like it's nobody's business.

I am an avid TTRPG gamer, with a collection of books that easily fills an IKEA bookshelf. I'm on this site to see whether or not this would be a viable place to find other like-minded RPers that would be interested in standard PBP games, or perhaps co-op options. I'm a big fan of theater-of-the-mind style play and have vast amounts of experience in running games online, but surprisingly not through forums. Up until now, it's always been discord. I'm excited to try forums again though, I haven't used it as an rp medium since gaiaonline... oooh, once again feeling old.

Anyway! Here's a core list of TTRPGs I'm hoping others might have an interest in, or ones I could teach people how to play, in order of presumed popularity:
    D&D (2014 and 2024)
Vampire: The Masquerade (I prefer v5, but I know v20, as well as the Mind's Eye larp rules and the Laws of the Night variation. My personal favorite system and setting)
    Call of Cthulhu (6th ed)
    Root RPG
    City of Mist
    Delta Green
    Ironsworn
    Mutant: Year Zero (my beloved)
    Vaesen
    Forbidden Lands
Dread (great for one shots, and there's a wonderful online resource for faking the Jenga tower feel online)
10 Candles (you'd be surprised at how well this works, but it's so depressing that I rarely ever get to run it)

Are there more in my collection? Most definitely! There's some big name systems I don't have listed but technically own, mostly because they're systems I'm either already running, playing in, or otherwise have my fill of at the moment. That said, tell me about your favorite system, I could gab about these silly books and dice all day.

Hi Dulcet,

Welcome to RPR!!

When I read that intro, the nicest Icebreaker would simply be something from your art. Just give us a glimpse of what you do, not necessarily a link, just a tiny image of your great art. <G>
Else? I think all is said, preferences, genres, history and occupation. What's your shoe size?? 🤣
TTRPG is a big theme here on RPR, don't hesitate to join the discussions around it. And by any means, ask anyone if you have a question.

Enjoy RPR

Thank you for the kind welcome! I'm glad I covered all my bases, except shoe size 🤣 That one gets to stay anonymous.

I'm sure I'll post art eventually, especially if there's any sort of ArtFight scene around here. Most of what I make is horror-based though, so I didn't want to jumpscare anyone with it. I'm sure as I get back into standard RP, I'll make more universally friendly pieces.

Thank you for the welcome!

I love Evil Hat, which systems of theirs have you played? Monster of the Week was the first and only game of theirs I've played, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also read through Don't Rest Your Head and appreciated the vibe they were going for, though I've never gotten to play or run it. Same goes for Blades in the Dark. I've also been eyeing Girl by Moonlight, but haven't committed to buying it yet.

Hello! Welcome! If you want to role-play, I suggest going to Forums ➡️ Looking for RP. Comment on a post or dm. You can even make your own post! Good luck!

Hello! "DM" is short for "Dungeon Master", a common phrase used for the storyteller in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Some people also use "GM" for Game Master, ST for "Story Teller", and so on! I figured I'd explain it, just in case you see the acronym pop up anywhere else in RP circles.
Welcome!
Hello Dulcet! Welcome to Rp Repository! :)
Welcome! TTRPG is quite fun. Used to do some years ago.
Hello there, and welcome to RPR! I am not big into TTRPG, but I've seen alot of other TTRPG people here. I'm sure you'll find some cool likeminded people :D
