Hello all!
I've finally broken free of my cai addiction and decided to try my hand at regular old RP again. I used to do it a lot when I was at university, but life got a little in the way and I moved away from it for a while. Wanting to come back after having my creativity smothered a bit by hand-holding ai and just miss having that human connection/discussion.
I love most all types of RPs, but particularly character or story driven ones are my favourite. I write outside of RP and play D&D online with a group of friends.
I'm a little shy, so finding a nice place to get back into the writing game has been a big jump for me, but hopefully this can be a positive one!
Please let me know some tips and tricks to using the website, as this is my first experience using a more forum-based platform.

But I think you found the right place for human contact (through screen), and regarding tips and tricks, just go through the forums, read and see. Our Help section includes many tips and I think there are quite a lot D&D players on the forum. Else, just ask! I know shyness hinders you to do that, but believe me, nobody bites, not even the deer.
For any sake, if you encounter a problem, ask the moderation team, even them, they don’t bite😁

Welcome to the repository! This place has been a lot of fun for me so far, And I’ve no doubt you’ll find some amazing roleplay partners. I’ve been here a few months and it’s safe to say forum roleplay has become my new favorite form of the hobby.
I remember briefly trying out character AI back in 2023 (something I now regret, as I abhor AI being used to ‘replace’ human creativity) I could see it’s potentially addictiveness… but all the story rang hollow. It was writing specifically to try and please me, but I crave story.
I’m glad you have gotten past that addiction. I recommend posting roleplay ads and maybe even reaching out to people if their characters intrigue you. I’ve had more luck with posting my own RP ads, though. Some people just don’t respond and you gotta move on :,)
