Usually, yeah! And the Just Talkin' can sometimes be a bumping chat topic. You can do the chat treatment to PMs, too.

If you haven't done the little tutorial thing yet (it shows up at the top of the Event page if you haven't), try going through it. It'll give you a bunch of good hints and tips, and also some free weapons for beating on monsters.
