Valen had heard of a place... a place called the Golden Tree Hallow. A place where all were welcome!
Valen was...different. He had the ability to absorb the life force of a dying creature, so long as the creature was not ready to die... it had to choose him. When his family found out they tried to lock him up and kill him. After years living on the streets he finally had found the amazing place he had been hearing of.
Valen walked through the trees, marveling at the golden leaves and then he saw it. The village in the woods! The Golden Tree Hallow. He wasn't sure exactly where to go or what to do at this point all he knew is he had finally found a place that would let him call it home.

Basket in hand, and a small hand in the other, Lily hummed as Aza just looked around with her cyan eyes. The basket was full of herbs from the forest, and Aza held a large gold leaf in her other hand, marveling at it whenever her eyes didn't wander.
They were headed for the large building that looked almost like a tree, that had a white cross just above the doorway, which held a light colored door with a friendly window. The clinic and welcome center of the town, that just laid in the middle of an old redwood with bright gold leaves. Large branches almost covered the entire village, the area bathed in a gold light from the canopy.

Valen noticed a large tree where two young girls were heading towards. He decided to go see if he could figure out how things worked around here. He approached the building slowly, there was a white cross above the door. He walked in and looked around... not sure what to say, so he said nothing. He just stood there.
The girls had entered the building and walked behind the counter. Lily noticed the boy and gave a warm smile before handing the basket to the petite Aza, "go sort these out, okay?"
"O-okay" Aza let go of her sister's hand and grabbed the basket, before running into the back of the building. Lily watched her pink haired sister run off, her barefeet padding on the smooth wood floor.

The sixteen year old boy took a few steps towards the counter. "Uh... hi," he said shyly. "This is.. um... the Golden Tree Hollow?"
He didn't walk any closer to the counter where Lily was and he shuffled around nervously, glancing at the door and through the windows all the time.

"Yes this is! You're new here, aren't ya? I haven't seen a fella like you around." Her violet eyes looked at him. "My name is Lily, and I'll gladly help you out whenever you need me to. Feel free to ask me anything." She leaned on the counter, letting her lavender dyed hair sway around.
"I... I'm just looking for a home," he told her. "But I'm... different." he hung his head a bit. "They say I'm an animal." He looked back at the young girl. She seemed nice and he felt like he could trust her. After all, that was why he came here to find a place he could live in peace and a community he could trust. "I shift into different animal forms. When an animal dies, if it's not ready to die, I can save it and it lives inside of me. Then I can shift into it's form. I know and can do everything it could."
"Well...that's where things are different here from other places." She jumped over the counter, "Everyone here is unique, everyone has a story, and everyone is somehow found to be accepted." she smiled still.
Lily walked to the door, swinging it open as a small harpy entered the building and smiled, flying over to the medical area. "To plenty of people here, including me, would think your power is amazing." she then gestured for him to follow before letting a glowing orb form in her hand and she slid it over to where Aza had entered.

Valen smiled. It seemed to stories he had heard of this place were true. For the first time in a long time a small glimmer of hope shone inside him. He followed Lily, gazing in wonder at the small glowing orb.
"Thank you," was all Valen could think of to say.

Lily lead him down through the village, past houses of different sizes, shapes, heights. Children of different species played around, playing tag, climbing through the trees; winged creatures flying to and fro, animals roaming around.
She knew what house to give Valen. She read his aura, and was sure of it. looked behind her and at him to smile reassuringly. They walked in front of a small house, that was about 2 stories tall. "Here is your home! It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom." (feel free to describe the home in anyway suitable for your character if you wish)

Valen smiled as they walked through the Hollow. It was amazing! He had never seen so many amazing creatures, people, and things. He knew this would be the perfect place for him. He followed Lily until they stopped in front of a small two story house.
"This?" he said, uncertain. "This is mine? It's perfect!"
He looked at the small house. It was simple on the outside but sturdy. It had dark blue wooden shingles and wooden siding just a shade lighter than the shingles. The porch was big and had a swing with a few plant pots setting on the railing. he stepped up to the front door and looked inside. It had an open floor plan... lots of space. There were only a few rooms.

Lily let out a childish giggle. "Please, don't thank me. I just knew this place was for you, as soon as I saw you step into my clinic. Do you have any questions or need anything else before I go?" she was happy to hear his reaction. She was always happy when others were.
"I... I don't know," he admitted. "Everything is so different here. I mean, I love it, but it's very different. It will take me a while to get used to things. Do I need to get a job and help out with something?" he wasn't sure what to expect.
"Oh. No, You don't. If you're unable to or just don't really wanna it's perfectly fine." Lily smiled, "but if you want to get a job or just feel the need, then feel free to come on down to the clinic, you can ask me or my little sister Aza."
She giggled once more, reading his aura happily before turning, "well, I'll be at the clinic. Welcome home!" she said confidently, before skipping off and away from Valen.

Valen nodded. "Thank you." Again, was all he could think to say. He stepped inside the house. It had very little furniture. Just the way he liked it. The first room was large with a small kitchen and a dinning room, the table short and close to the floor for people to sit at cross legged on the floor. The next room was open with a wide archway and was the living room. It had mats, pillows, cushions, and beanbags all around the edges for places to sit and lay. There was a low coffee table in the middle and a door in the back of the room that opened up to another small porch in the back.
The back yard was beautiful! It was completely enclosed by trees, shrugs, and bushes. the grass was tall and flowing, though not green... it was, in fact, purple. "Purple grass?" Valen smiled. He had always loved the color purple. There was a beautiful cherry tree in the center of the yard with gorgeous cherry blossoms covering it. A small bench sat under the tree. In the far right corner of the yard was another tree, three times the size of the cherry tree. It reached far into the sky and branched out to shade most of the back yard. It's leaves were bright golden, like the trees of the forest around the Hollow. Lastly, in the opposite corner of the golden leafed tree was a giant rock formation that shot twenty feet into the air. The rock was dipped and dimpled with wear marks and had holes and tunnels carved through it by water. It sat in a bed of smooth brown gravel. The round bed of gravel had a path, also covered with the loose brown rocks, that lead all the way along the edge of the yard and wrapped back around to the porch.
Valen smiled as he continued exploring the house. To the side of the living room was a small hall. At one end was the bathroom and the other end was a stair case that lead up stairs. Up stairs was simple. A hallway ran the length of the front edge of the house. In the middle was the second bathroom and on each end was a large bedroom.

Lily had quickly gone to work with the fresh herbs they had brought in earlier as soon as she stepped into the clinic. She worked on the herbs and the remedies and medicines as her sister went around and cared for any of the patients and visitors in the clinic.
A smile still gracing her lips she welcomed visitors and new patients, gave out the medicine old patients needed. She just did her job happily. She hummed to herself and even swayed her hips around, moving around the back area quickly and efficiently.
Aza had peeked in a few times, smiling at her sister before returning back to work. "My sister is a dork" she'd say to no one in particular. Aza turned around to start helping out a Naga that had just came in.

An hour later or so Valen stepped through the doors of the clinic. He looked over to see Lily humming happily as she went about her business. He waved to her sheepishly and walked up towards the counter.
"I figured... you guys have done a lot for me already. I'd like to help out with something, anything you need me to do."

"Oh?" Lily looked over at Valen with her violet eyes, "hmm...if you really want to help...uhh" Lily stopped to think, holding a bottle with two bright flowers. She felt a tug on the sweater she wore and looked down to see her tiny little sister.
Aza looked up at her with cyan eyes, before Lily smiled. "You could help out my sister take care of the patients. Trust me, it's nothing hard, she's just checking up with them and making sure the permanent ones are comfortable." Aza then gave a faint smile and nodded. "She seems like she wants the help.."

Valen nodded and followed Aza. He didn't say much, he waited to be told what to do. He was slightly uncomfortable working around so many people but he knew he had to get used to this community some time. Maybe this was a good way to do it.
He tried to help in whatever ways he could.
