Also, where does one go to make guesses? I'm trying to navigate on my phone and I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at

Go to "Battle baddies" and click on either of the two boosters. You'll see ten symbols on each. Touch the symbols and the guess entry box will pop up - though right now the aliens will stop you at that point.

Still, that leaves q and w switched.

I was basically going to point out that the only aliens with digits have 4 per limb, meaning their number system might be base 4 or 8 instead of the 10 we use, but that it's unlikely that actually helps anything.

And since Roman and tally match one hand, that maybe a new symbol similarly matchs 4 or 8.

Buuuut other things being said seem to already make more sense.
