Maybe the dice we were supposed to look at was the blank triarii and not the Die Star? Maybe the Die Star 4 is what is through us off?
At the same time though the four on the Die Star is an odd detail to add if it is not important
The Sarpedon's die goes blank, too, in the last panel of that comic.
I think that's just how they leave the die.
