Merthyr frowned noticing Gawain did not grab the reins at all.

"If you're wounded you should give me the horse and sword I can ride and defend you" offered Merthyr concerned for his cousin.

"I think I can manage, I don't need a squire doing knight's work" dismissed Gawain wincing when using his blistered hands

(Edited to give Taff/Mordred back)

Josh nodded in understanding

"It's hardly your fault, the nobles command and servants can only obey" appeased Josh taking the guilt away
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

"No, not that incident. You know nothing of the incident I speak of." She hugged herself.
Mordred (played by Guingamor)

Mordred raised an eyebrow at this, taking a mental note for himself.

"The search hasn't been fruitful so far," observed Mordred, in a reserved tone. Privately, he find himself both curious and hopeful for what misfortunes could have befallen the former king.

"I'm certain I have," replied Taff, concern rising into his tone. "I'll spread word of her," he said, "maybe I should go check the grounds again."

Taff, still somewhat breathless, left in somewhat of a rush to go spread word.
"Sir Mordred take the knights and scout the surrounding paths and forests, I must withdraw to get some treatment" admitted Gawain leaving squires out of conversation as he addressed the other knight. Following such statement he returned to the city for medical help, going to find his mother as both hands worsened by the hour sinc he held the goblet

Merthyr Tydfil kept composed despite being sided looking up at Mordred
"I could venture further ahead, as a lookout, if you would allow it, sir knight" offered Merthyr anxious for some news

Josh looked at Amber "Would you like to tell me all about it?" Quizzed Josh
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

"I would, but I'm afraid if I do that my life would be in terrible danger." She looked down, saddened.
Andrew Drake (played by fabulo)

Andrew was a sorcerer and had been hiding from the radical people of his small town. He had been doing a great job until one day all of a sudden he lost control and his magic power burst out of him like a bottle of champagne, and a single snowflake fell onto his face. Then all across the realm of Camelot a blizzard of epic proportions burst out of control. It was the kind of spell that you put all of your magic into and left you exhausted for days, but the fear of the other people kept him going. He ran and ran away until he couldn't run anymore and fell into the snow. He was quickly covered up by the snow and fell into a coma like sleep.

(it would be wonderful if someone could find me!)
Mordred (played by Guingamor)

"Very well," replied Mordred, watching as Sir Gawain left, before gesturing to the rest of the knights to move forward.

The air began to grow.. very cold. Unusually cold, in fact. Glancing around at the sudden change, he saw snow starting to gather on the trees, and ice where the grass had been wet. A blizzard was gathering unusually quickly in the area.

"Go ahead," Mordred said to Merthyr. "It seems nature isn't pleased with this search, however. We should try and get back quickly," he said, knowing they hadn't prepared for sudden winter conditions, feeling cold even in his padded armour.

Eventually, Taff came up to knock on the door of Princess Morgana's room, having informed all the other inhabitants of the castle of Guinevere being missing.

Despite having ran for most of the day, he started to feel cold. He could see his breath.
Morgause (played by Raider-jack29)

Morgause spent her time tending to the wounds of sir crow in silence. Though she did linger on the man himself, he was a very odd man to be sure. He was in a position to do so many things with his life and yet did none. He was a wandering warrior more than a knight really as he didn't have and loyalties to one family or another. Though he had been in Camelot for quite some time.

Though she knew she only had
These thoughts to keep her mind off her missing maid. For surely the girl wasn't childish enough to run away simply because she couldn't get the boy she liked.

Though it seemed as if her thoughts were to receive an answer as landing upon her window seal, seemingly carried by the winds was a peice of fine white cloth stained in blood.
As she picked up the stained cloth she almost wept at the possible meaning of this. Just then a cold breeze came upon her face, and by the cold dominion of winter she was stricken.

"Truly they do not jest when they say winter comes, and with it...the beginning of the end."
"Thank you.... sir knight... Lately seems all odds are stacked against me" nodded Merthyr grateful for the given permission, breaking into a run and venturing deeper into the forest looking for clues as to his father's fate, torn fabric from the banner discarded at a bush or other, bearing the marks of a well executed ambush and kidnap.

Merthyr ventured further into the snow despite the freezing conditions, seeing a human shape laying on the ground. Clearly it was not his father nor the knight he hoped to find, for they would have worn armor but perhaps he or she was an eyewitness as to who had taken the king, where to. "Help! Over here is a wounded man! Bring a stretcher!" shouted Merthyr

Just a little further, in plain view, as soon as Camelot's fortress was out of sight, he started finding the grim evidence he was looking for. To the left and right, scattered about, he found sir Tristan's and king Conrad's armour and sword, the weapons carelessly discarded, as well as the clothing, blood stained attire at that, bearing the marks of a whipping. Whoever had taken them, did not spare them the least item, for Merthyr was able to collect and retrieve them all down to boots, underwear and socks. He checked around for signs of who could have done such a thing until a glimmer came from a half buried metal.

He picked it up to examine the fine pendant "Cendric of Mercia" spat Merthyr noticing the coat of arms on the dropped medallion that must have fallen from the invaders during the scuffle. He pocketed the item and rushed to the wounded man's aid, unaware it was a sorcerer, but not caring about that. He could easily be a Mercian spy or a Mercian informant, survivor or supporter but, his priority being saving a life "Help! Over here! Bring a stretcher!" shouted Merthyr

"Amber... open the door" nodded Morgana knowing Taff's unique steps and pace and trusting it to be the manservant
Mordred (played by Guingamor)

Mordred nodded to a few of the squires, stirring on his horse after Merthyr's cries.

Upon arrival, he could see evidence of a battle. Blood stained attire, armour, weapons.. they must be freezing at the moment. Mordred felt satisfaction at the thought. Then, a human shape on the ground. A man, it seemed, a survivor or witness, he assumed.

Two of the squires who had come, came with the stretcher, lifting the person onto the stretcher.

"What have you found?" asked Mordred.
Merthyr Tydfil pursed his lips, ducking the head in surrender, well aware anything squires found belong to their liege knights.

"Cendric of Mercia... my father's sworn enemy, tended him a clearly very successful ambush. No corpses though, which means our men were outnumbered, stripped, chained and dragged away to slavery and torture no doubt, mayhap death" sighed Merthyr taking out the emblem and handing it to Mordred for it was the knight who would have to report this to the queen

Gawain came to the infirmary, waiting for a healer, any healer to be available, he ripped his gauntless and gloves to reveal the damaged hands, skin blistered and peeled and the bleeding and infection spreading, the burn growing up the wrists, creeping up his arms unstoppable.

"It's sorcery... someone get my mother or a warlock, or sorcerer, anyone with enough power counter curses of the strongest kind" urged Gawain uncomfortable at having to restort to magic but in too much pain to reject that option
Andrew Drake (played by fabulo)

Andrew stirs from his coma like sleep and is very cold... wait cold? The memories flood back to him, crap, he thinks and opens his eyes. When he wakes up he is in the castle on a stretcher. Slowly he stands, but falls right back down. "Ugh, I feel so weak." He whispers to himself, he takes the time to look around at his surroundings. There doesn't seem to be any significant people just a few nurses. He stands this time and limps along trying to sneak out, not aware of the downfall of the previous king. Dertermined as he is to escape he is just to weak and is escorted back to his bed.
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

She nodded and opened the door, stepping aside to let them in. "What has happened?" She looks at Taff for answers.
Mordred (played by Guingamor)

Mordred frowned at the emblem but simply said, "Good work finding it."

He and the rest of the knights and squires made haste back to the castle, knowing the man likely needed urgent attention.
Having brought the man to the infirmary, and informed the nurses that the man should be questioned as soon as he is well, Mordred made his way to the Queen to make his report.

"Guinevere, the Queen's maid, has gone missing," said Taff, "I've searched the castle twice over and haven't been able to find her, just the lily she had in her hair at the entrance to the garden."
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

"Did you check the garden?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
Morgana opened her eyes wide

"I have not seen her since she danced with my betrothed and she certainly isn't here... poor woman." muttered Morgana

"Well queen Morgause insists you are a very powerful warlock so... use your powers and summon her back or find her location somehow. Magic is capable of many things, it says so in the forbidden books Amber is letting me read through" suggested Morgana simply, seeing no other venue

Merthyr was clearly distressed and restless at the findings so far and turned to Mordred with a plea on his lips

"Sir knight, you must permit me to travel to the kingdom of Mercia and get more news. Write me a parchment of safe passage, I am but a squire, I can deliver any messages on your behalf concerning the kidnapped knight, find out their fate, whether they live or whether they will be executed" offered Merthyr restless rubbing his hands anxiously as he petitioned his knight for permission to part ways
Andrew Drake (played by fabulo)

Andrew fell asleep for a little while waiting to be summoned or something. He was feeling much better, good enough to use some basic magic and to move without to much pain. His recovery was oddly fast normally mana sickness lasted weeks but he was getting better after only a few days. There must be something here that was aiding him in his recovery, in only another day or two he would be normal again (as normal as can be) if he stayed longer his mana might even increase.
The Hanged Man (played anonymously)

Crow did not awaken for a long time as Morgause tended to his wounds and pondered over his character. He was indeed a strange man, having come into Conrad's service near twenty tears ago, though he had aged very gracefully, if at all. He was landless, subservient, quiet, and never had any lady loves, for it was rumored that he only had room in his heart for wine.

Eventually he opened his eyes and gazed up at the ceiling. "My qu-queen," he murmured. His voice was not deep, and it had a faint stutter that made him sound boyish. It was otherwise quite flat and deadpan. "We were attacked. Mer-Mercians. They took everyone else."

Suddenly his demeanor changed. He grew agitated and began to pat himself down with shaking hands, disrupting his wounds yet paying that no mind. "My ... where's my ... in-in my armor ..." His damaged breastplate, which had been set down nearby, had a piece of threadbare white cloth sticking out of it. It bore the blazon of a red firebird.
Mordred (played by Guingamor)

"I did check the garden," replied Taff, brow furrowed.

"I don't know how to do that kind of magic," admitted Taff, albeit he was reluctant to use magic in any case. But Guinevere could be in danger, so he pushed this aside temporarily. "Do you know any spell that could do this, Amber?" he asked, turning to her hopefully.

"Very well," said Mordred, if only to sate his curiosity, and to see how Merthyr would deal with travelling through this winter. Getting out a parchment, quill, and inkwell, he wrote a parchment of safe passage.

Handing this to Merthyr he said, "Find out their fates - but don't make any move until we receive leave to do so from the Queen." Internally, he wondered what trials Conrad was going through at this moment.

((OOC: Good night.))
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

"Do you have anything that belonged to her?" She started flipping through her book, that just appeared in her hand. "I have a locater spell. It is risky but it should lead you to her. I need something that belonged to her." She smiled and walked over to her vanity, pulling out a small vial of blue sparkling liquid. "One drop will suffice."
