My monster man who was raised in cat walmart.

This is Steve. Steve is a nice old man who's also a werewolf. Sweet and kind and very protective.
Briar Darkmore (played by Cyanymph)

I will be using Briar tonight!

Heyo!

I'll be bugging Yoen tonight.

Originally he's a clone trooper, but I've been using a fantasy AU incarnation recently. He's a shapeshifting sapient bug with a bad attitude.

Gonna move on to prompts before it gets too late <3 but you can share a character with us at any time!
Ashley Topic Starter

Current prompts recap below. Remember, these never time out. So you can go back and answer an old one at any time. The point is to get you talking about your character or the world their live in.

[Prompt #1] Does your character have a type of tic, or bad habit?
[Prompt #2] How does your character handle a relationship, what do they want in a partner?
[Prompt # 3] What would it take to push your character over the edge, temper wise? How bad do they blow when they've reached their limit?
[Prompt #4] What is an unusual social practice in your character's world? Whatever you can think of.

[Prompt #5] What does your character use as currency. Is it different in their world? Do they barter, exchange coins? Open your mind! This can include things like babysitting for a casserole. Any service in exchange for something else counts!
[ Prompt 5 ]
Money doesn’t mean much to Baz. In the city where she lives, they use cash just like present day. Personally she doesn’t like the idea of collecting money and aims for what she needs; like food. She’ll steal to live but not anything extra. It is a means to an end.
However, she has had a history of trading information or favors for things she wants. This has gotten her into trouble so she isn’t quick to take or give any favors.
Yoen (played by Thelmarie)

[Prompt #5]

Yoen needs to absorb radiation of some kind, or he'll stiffen up and be unable to shift. He can be bribed or bought with radioactive materials, like trinkets containing uranium. As for buying things, when he doesn't lie/cheat/steal his way into getting things for free, he tends to offer services instead of currency. Altar Thieves are pretty skilled shapeshifters, if you don't look too closely, and that's a useful thing to have at your disposal.
Briar Darkmore (played by Cyanymph)

Prompt 5//

Briar trades herbs and small charmed objects for food and things. Also trades her healing services for money or food, she is like a magical doctor but she will save your child on their deathbed for a nice meal with the family after. She doesn't take more than she needs.

Alf: Alf's world had an international currency for a short while but it's been falling out of regular use. They're called Hodd coins. You can mostly only get the full value out of them in large enough towns and cities.
In the country side, bartering makes far more sense.

[Prompt #6] What is your character's proudest moment, what was their saddest?

(For the record I mage these prompts enormous so they're easier to find.)
Yoen (played by Thelmarie)

[Prompt #6]

I haven't done a lot of developing on demon-Yoen's backstory, so this answer will probably change in the future :P

Currently his proudest achievement was successfully getting himself added to a pantheon. Altar Thieves are so named because they have an annoying proclivity for setting themselves up as false gods. Most of them have a flair for the theatrical and pagan tribes on their homeworld are perfect prey. They'll hang around for a while, learning lore about the local gods, and then present themselves to the public as the god of rain/night/grass/what have you, come to earth in the flesh. This is where their powers of disguise really come in handy. Intimidate enough people with your eldritch appearance, and they just might believe what you say, and/or start a priesthood in your honor. It's a sneaky way to get people to give you stuff for free, including a nice private temple to nap in.

Annnd his lowest moment was getting kicked out of said pantheon. Due to circumstances I haven't figured out yet, Yoen gets exposed and chased out of town with fire and pitchforks. (He's rather flammable.) After losing over half his body, he stumbles through various dimensions fleeing his pursuers. He's now about the size of your average bulldog and thoroughly humiliated.
[Prompt #6]

Baz doesn’t have many proud moments. If anything she might be proud of a skillful wallet snatch or a free-running path. In general she is proud of being able to handle life on her own but she can’t say that anymore because she isn’t living on the streets. She’s kind of stuck in a limbo where she feels unsuccessful at everything but doesn’t have the willpower to change it. Low self esteem teenage yaaay!

Baz has many sad moments. Most she doesn’t want to talk about. The way she became homeless and alone is a very touchy subject but it involves a lot of abandonment and loss. Because of the loss she is bitter towards any comradely or commitment. She fears being left behind or failing someone if she gets attached.

[Prompt #6]

Using this dweeb: https://www.rprepository.com/c/pariskelly

Paris' proudest moment was probably when he taught himself to play his instruments again. He had an accident that messed up his motor skills quite a bit, to the point where he had to relearn how to walk, and though relearning that was an achievement in itself, it didn't mean as much to him as being able to make music again. It made him feel like he was normal again, especially once he was able to perform. So I guess his big moment was feeling like himself again after a few long years of being lost.

Though his accident was pretty terrible, it was what he learned afterwards that really broke him. He'd been "missing" for a while, and as a result, wasn't around for some pretty significant events in his family's timeline. Turns out he does not handle guilt very well, and it was a huge setback during his recovery. Eventually he pulled through though, but it left him with a hunger for socialization and a powerful desire to be involved in everything that goes on around him.

[Prompt #7] What do they do for a living? Do they enjoy it, or are they just doing it because they have to?
Baz is “employed” by a cyborg parts repairman in exchange for a place to live and food to eat. She cleans the salvage parts before her coworker makes them useable. She is good at it, but it doesn’t take much skill. She hates the job and hates living with her boss and co-worker but she can’t leave. She’s lied to her boss and he supposedly believes that her parents are out of town for an extended amount of time. She planned to leech during the winter and then go back to her street home. However that 'home' has been snatched by some other characters that she has to get rid of first. She’s a grump about the whole situation.
Yoen (played by Thelmarie)

[Prompt #7]

Despite being sapient, Yoen is more of a wild animal than anything. As long as he's gotten food and shelter, he's content to snooze in a cave the rest of the time. Once in a while he'll get into a predicament involving uppity sapients that'll bother him until he comes out victorious, but he doesn't have a job or any hobbies at the moment. Slacker.
SammyHarlan

[Prompt #7]

Paris is an unemployed slacker, though not entirely of his own fault. He has impulse control problems and authority issues, so being told what to do, even in exchange for delicious dollar bills, does not sit well with him. The longest he's held a job for was two weeks. The only way he can consistently make money is by busking and getting gigs for his band, which he enjoys immensely. Thankfully he also has a roommate with an actual income so he doesn't starve or end up homeless.

Wrapping it up with one more prompt for the night, I'll be back with more on another day!

[Prompt #8] Has your character ever been on trial?
SammyHarlan

[Prompt #8]

Paris was almost put on trial for drug possession and a couple other unsavory crimes, but because he was kinda sorta out of commission when all of his wrongdoings were being uncovered, something else was worked out. His best friend was on much thinner ice with a similar set of charges against him, but Paris was actually used as a means to get him out of a trial and prison as well. Fun times!
