"You mean that heart?" Xueqing tilted her head, "Well, it's my soul."
The same thing floated out of her chest again. A heart-shaped pink soft thing that has magenta as its outline, - and it glowed. Some short pink strings were twirling around it.
It moved to John, but then dimmed down a bit, backed down a few centimeters and shook slightly for a little while. Nervousness was again visible on Xueqing's face as she looked aside before taking her own soul back, lightly holding it in her right hand (she held it lightly as not to cause herself uncomfort).

A demonic entity showed up temporarily as his white hair shimmer in the dim lit tavern. His golden eyes glowed as he stared at Xue before he faded from this reality as he said, "We will meet again real soon..."
"Ooh, spooky!" But this sort of stuff doesn't seem to bother Chen, I mean people with horns and the like are...common to her. Even she has horns and a tail!

“John is just much, much too overprotective of me. That’s all.” She shook her head. “Thinks I’m going to botch a surgery and die or something. Or that I will under your watch, I suppose? As if that’s happened before. I’d like to think I know what I’m doing.”
“Surely you’ve dealt with his like before. Witchhunter types. Inquisitors, I believe you called him. A lot of zeal put to less than efficient use.” Esme laughed. “He made a better lab assistant.”

"Correct, I have dealt with representatives of the Inquisition's Holy Ordos in the past, but in that instance the Inquisitor wished for me to aid him due to the fact that I am one of the few remaining Magi who still has knowledge of the long forgotten art of Cybertheurgy. Additionally, should you care for this information, the failure rate for cybernetic implantations within the Cult Mechanicus is zero."
"In simpler terms?"
"The procedures are safe and the Inquisitor has no need to be concerned."
The girl had overheard the conversation. While still lightly holding her soul, she turned to Harkoth's direction. With some delight. "Well, I might have a suitable place to get an artificial heart then."
"Oppure potresti chiedere a quel tizio Stark, in base a quello che ho sentito. Hahaha!" (Or you could ask that Stark guy, from what I've heard.)
"Nah, I still have a normal heart, it's just got a device attached to it that zaps it back into action when my bpm drops below a certain threshold. That device is powered by a miniature arc reactor, the design of which was thought of by my father, the late great Tony Stark."
"It's rather cute that you thought I was talking about you, but either way, I still have no interest in your family."

He squinted at it through his glasses and remarked, “It seems to be afraid of me.” Shocker, he thought. It wasn’t as though Xueqing was at ease in his presence.
John was so, so tempted to reach out and touch the soul. But he knew it would be a terrible idea. His magic was uncontrollable and the last thing he wanted was for it to drain the life forces out of the girl’s soul or something. Instead he took a step back and kept his hands far away from it, clasping them behind his back and inspecting the floating heart from a safe distance. “Does it hurt, when this leaves your body?”

He turns away from the curious heart for just a moment. “Is that so? That’s a tremendous relief. I’ll be pleased to see her ‘liberate herself from the burden of flesh’ or whatever she calls it. Safely.”
"Not at all, -unless it's involuntarily forced out." Xueqing shook her head, now feeling more at ease. "Though, having it too far from me and I'll start to feel hollowed."

...Xueqing looked around, feeling a bit weird about things. She kept a mental note of this. "Anyone has had illusions of some sort?"
"...No?" Mika is still...snacking.

"Well... I'm having a bit right now." While still acting easy and saying it was an illusion, Xueqing took a serious mental note out of this, and put her soul back inside her chest.
She took out her phone and started typing, most likely texting someone.

A tough matter... She proceeded to type whatever she needed to type before clicking on the send button. Then, she put the phone back in her pocket.
Gazing around, the girl found her brother genuinely worried. "You fine?"
"Not too big of a problem."
