he later walks into the bar a spear in his shoulder and an arrow in his leg but if it hurt him he didn't show it as he sipped blood from a canteen he kept in his deteriorating bag

"Do you require assistance, Shade?"

"i'm a vampire doc ill heal just as long as i get a steady food supply of blood"

"Oh I see. If you ever want to donate blood, you can. We just need to know your blood type and if you've had any diseases that might be transmissible by blood transfusion."

"well i'm dead and any illness that could kill a human would be purged from my blood though i'm not quite sure what the effects of vampire blood being transfused into a human body"

"it what it is doc if there was a way to remove the vampiric quality from my blood i'd lend it heck the SPARTAN probably needs a transfusion friggin test tube soldiers"

"If he could have told me his blood type, I would have been able to prevent him suffering permanent internal damage. Now I don't even know if he'll live."

"No soldier is expendable. If my husband was still alive, he would tell you that himself. He was in the armed forces."
