So, my suggestion is that there's an option to "hide" something that comes up on your dash. For example, perhaps someone adds a picture to their character that doesn't necessarily break the rules, but is also not something you want to have sitting on your dash. It would be great to have a feature that you could just click on that alert/post/whatever and hit a "hide" button.
I'm also totally open to other options that may accomplish the same goal of not seeing every single thing that pops up on my dash. I know I can 'unfollow' or whatever, but then I'm not seeing ANYTHING by that person.

There actually is a an option for that!
Dashboard> Your settings>Your notification settings> scroll down to other and toggle it off.

There actually is a an option for that!
Dashboard> Your settings>Your notification settings> scroll down to other and toggle it off.
That actually doesn't fix what she is asking. I believe she wants the ability to hide 1 specific post she doesn't want on her dashboard. Facebook has this option where it hides a specific status you do not want to see. She still wants to see from said person, just not one specific post/picture

This is exactly what I want!
I know there's the option to hide notifications from users completely, but I only want to hide specific posts. I know I can 'unsubscribe' from a thread, and 'unfollow' certain people to not get notifications from them anymore, but I'm talking about specific posts on my dash that I'd rather not have there.

Never really thought about that until Celest-chan brought it up.
I have to second this one. I love seeing posts from my friends in my feed, but sometimes I just want to hide one thing from them (maybe a post to a forum that I have no interest in, or as Celestina mentioned, photos that don't break rules but are questionable/uninteresting for me to have in my feed) without having to fully unfollow them in the process.
