Please read: Due to recent developments (02 May 2019) I am closing the official story I had planned out for this. It saddens me deeply and it hurts to have to do this, but seeing it get blown up in drama within the first 48 hours has caused me to feel rather hopeless about this roleplay futurewise! I wish to apologize and thank all those that have tried hard to make this work, but too much has happened.

Welcome to The Island OOC, the OOC thread in which you can find all the information and discussion about "The Island"
The island was created by me on 29 April 2019 as a way to unite all kinds of characters, no matter their origin. This means that you'll find characters from different genres and settings on The Island and that any and all characters are allowed to join. You do not need to ask permission to join, just post and you're in. If you wish to discontinue your roleplay in The Island then you can leave a post here stating that you will no longer post in it. In this case, your character will be considered "lost" on the island after wandering off and it will not be used or mentioned in further posts.
General rules and guidelines
- Stay respectful at all times. While everyone loves a good villain character, don't ruin the fun of other players for the sake of your own fun. Know the limit. If you're a decent person I expect you to know this limit without having another player point it out to you.
- Do NOT control anyone else's character or any general character that doesn't fall under your control. You write from your character's "POV" and perception, even if you post in third person and not in first.
- There is currently no known way of leaving the island IC, this is supposed to stay that way. Please respect this.
- You're allowed to alter and change the island, supposed to even, to fit your character's needs. Adding things from your character's home setting is allowed and even encouraged but don't go overboard and don't include ways of leaving the island.
- The island is located on an unknown planet that consists of 60% water and 40% land, that land being one single island. It's atmosphere as well as climate is similar to our own earth. You're welcome to add zones in which the temperature is significantly higher or lower than that in which a human could survive if this zone matches your character's natural habitat.
- Upon arriving on the island, animals from your character's home setting will arrive too depending on your character's need for them. In general, there surely will be a few dozen of them. However, if your character is a hunter in their normal setting, there will be more.
- OOC is not IC and IC is not OOC
- If you have a problem with another player and/or their character, try to respectfully talk it out in pm's and if that doesn't work for any reason message me. If I can't help you out and the situation were to escalate to the point of breaking general RPR rules, message a moderator.
- There is no sexual activity allowed in this roleplay. Romance is fine and PDA is okay, but if you want to go beyond the normal cuddling, hugging, kissing and hand holding then I suggest you take it to PM.
- There is a rather large group of roleplayers parttaking in The Island. Please keep this in mind when you post and give everyone the chance to get regular posts in. Don't flood the thread! In general, it is my advice to let at least 3 other post come between 2 of your posts. If it would happen that only 1 or 2 people posted after your post and more than 24 hours have passed, you're allowed to post again.
- Don't kill or majorly injure another player's character without their explicit permission.

This is it, we've survived the first day on THE ISLAND! WOOHOO!
Okay, excitement aside: the roleplay has become way bigger than I expected, which is good and I love it.
The main thing in The Island will be that it's a place for characters come together and where mini roleplays will occur between particular characters while they're all still part of the main plot due to the group size. This is fine.
However, I have planned some exciting "mini-events" and a few bigger events that will affect the plot and the island in major ways, steering the story in particular directions. Outside of these events you're free to roleplay as you please, however during these events I'll post a common "group goal" or "group task" to cause for our characters to work together! If you really would rather not participate in these events I can't force you and I won't, but I promise that they'll be interesting and a lot of fun. Tomorrow I'll post the starter event and the first "group goal/task" that our characters can complete together.
The current setting of the roleplay is 10 pm, it's still raining and the night falls. Feel free to roleplay from the night til the morning/pre-noon and after that, the first "mini-event" will start ^w^
I hope you are all as excited as I am!

Anyways, it's not easy to sneak up on Kazira. He's a Lupine, meaning that he can sense things a lot easier.
I guess this is unlikely but is there any way we could find a way to at least somewhat keep track of where characters are? I find it really disorienting havign everybody just exist in this limbo where I dont know where anything is in relation to eachother. I tried to write a bit about the geography of where I was to give some sense of permaneance but it didnt really catch on and its really confusing for me...
As for an idea. Um. Maybe we could have like, a list of notable locations with their "general" positions on the island (northeast, middle, southeast, etc.)?

At least an effort was made to put some sense of direction for people. I personally think a list would've been harder to use, as people (such as myself) that have aphantasia wouldn't be able to use it and it would be useless pretty much.
Second:
Personally, I don't see how making this into an actual group being useful or helpful. Groups are used for larger RPs, and there's barely anyone in this (even though there's some, groups are usually meant for much larger amounts of people). Not only that, but with the island adapting to everyone's needs there's hardly any definitive information you can add that will be useful for anyone. It would just be a simple group with different forums, which will then make it hard for some people to navigate, who find RPs hard to navigate even without that mechanic. Nothing would actually change, and we'd be at this same point again within a few days with people complaining about wasted effort. And personally, being with the few people who cannot navigate RPs, I would be dropping out.
I know it's confusing, but there's not much you can do at this point. Too much has gone on and with the way the RP is, it's not going to become perminant.
EDIT: Also, keep in mind this RP has been active for less than 3 days. The fact that this has even become an argument is a little worrying. And if it doesn't get resolved soon, I'm not sure I want to continue.
