Every once in awhile (about monthly, I'm estimating), I "lose" this website for a few hours. In Chrome this manifests as a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN message. Safari just reports that it can't find the server "www.rprepository.com".

The site itself is obviously still up because I can get to it via my celluar network, just not via my home network. However, I can get to all my other usual sites just fine.

Restarting the router has no effect. I'm not real solid on my understanding of how all the DNS stuff works on various levels. But just reporting in case it's at all helpful.

Currently, it's been like that on my home network for at least an hour, perhaps a little longer. In the past, it has come back within about 4-5 hours.
You're not alone. Admittedly, I'm fortunate that I can usually access RPR again just by turning off my VPN, but there have been times when that wasn't the issue. I've heard others have been dealing with it, too.

Assuming it's the same issue, Kim's been confused about what's going on, and is basically hoping to magically fix that once the new version of the site is rolled out.

This seems to happen with me on my phone on occasion as I use Safari to access the site when I'm Mobile (Is there an app?). It doesn't even hesitate to come back with 'server not found' message when it happens. I've gone to my Google Chrome and MS Edge on my computer and all is well, so I'm suspecting it may be something with Safari?

Yours sounds different, DR. Mine was not browser dependent. :)

It's been all good for awhile now. Total issue time today was about 2 hours.
I got a similar issue pretty constantly, but I think its a phone issue honestly? At least in my case, which prevented me from accessing google and - as a result - just about everything. Supposedly it stops after a *factory* reset, which just sounds awful and not worth it if it still largely works.

At least in my case, it's not with a particular end device (laptop, phone, tablet). It's a DNS problem. Which means it could be as "close" to me as my home router, in which case perhaps there is something I could do to fix it. Going by Novalyyn's response, this now seems like it's probably not the case. (Thanks, Novalyyn!)

More likely, it's somewhere along them magical interweb tubes between my ISP and wherever rpRepo is hosted.

How DNS works

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the new version has the magic internet fairy dust. ;)

This is happening to a lot of people. As far as I can tell, it's not really "here" either, and the RPR is not actually going down. So it's very likely somewhere in between us and you. This is... super frustrating.
