Happy 2026 Everyone! We're kind of in a lull where we are getting accustomed to the new year now the holiday festivities are behind us, and the next RPR event will be February's 'Meet Cute'. So I decided to have a Happy 2026 raffle!
How To Enter: Using a public character you have here on RP Repository that's your absolute favorite to write role-play with, leave a comment about your character (How they came to be; the best story they have been in; a shameless plug to role-play... whatever). If you want to have fun with it and write your entry in-character, that is fine too!
Deadline to enter: Entering the raffle closes at 11:11pm Pacific Time (PST) on Saturday January 31st. All public character entries submitted prior to this time will be listed in the raffle! Time and day of raffle will be determined after the entry date closure.
What Are the Prizes? Well, I had a whole pile of stuff dumped into my inventory when a friend left the site. They told me to put it to good use, but I don't know what to do with it all. The below list are some of the more exotic items...
~ One (1) Raina the purple phoenix. I became her caretaker and she is currently staying at a hotel and is quite happy, but she would probably like a loving writer to see to her needs. If you want to (maybe) change her plumage, you can try and locate Cinnamon Sticks (cinnamon sticks not included) to feed her.
~ One (1) Struthian Isle Sunset (a limited-edition sale item that can be used to gain two character slots)
~ Four (4) Pet Rocks - Idaho the Lumpy Rock, Rocko the Mossy Rock, Metamorphica the Tiger-eye Rock, and an unnamed orphan Amethyst Geode. They are currently rocking out at Rock-n-Roll Hotel.
~ One (1) Rainbow Rose ... because people seem to ask for these on occasion.
~ Two (2) Silk Cloaks (1 White, 1 Black that come in the enchanted wardrobes). You can collect them for display, or use them for character slots, or trade them for blue cloaks to someone else who wants to collect them.
~ There will be a bunch of other random valuable stuff ... Flowers... Pages... Orbs... Epic Week stuff (no Epic time items though) and other odds and sods which I will list after the entries close and I have time to set up the raffle for the entrants.
How Will the Winner(s) Be Chosen?: Numbers will be assigned to eligible entries in the order they're received (Remember, Public Characters Only). After the contest closes, I will set up the raffle and roll dice here in this thread using RPR's dice to select the winners. The die/dice used will depend on the number of entrants to the raffle.
Rules: One (1) comment is one (1) entry. Limited to one (1) entry per player account/person with a public character of their choice. One (1) prize per player account/person. As prizes are given away, the previous winner numbers will be 're-rolls'. This raffle is not sponsored by RPR.
Let's have fun, everyone!

This is Dani. She is probably not fun to roleplay with, at least in-character. Dani has no money. Dani doesn't pay her share of the rent. Dani is a slob. Don't be like Dani...
The Ever-Superfluous Lord General. A stereotypical british officer type with a stiff upper lip who is a bit mad but brilliant. Played with a dash of grimdark humor.
I'm torn between a couple characters, but I think it'd have to be Legend. Legend was made to be the warlock patron of a different OC I made [emo phase half-elf who desperately wanted an edgy patron but is garbage at learning to summon demons] and just kind of rolled from there.
He's technically an Awakened Wish spell, but has very Fae vibes about him. Legend's favorite things are puzzles, and he'll happily bestow boons on people for introducing him to new puzzles, riddles, or jokes.
My favorite thing about playing Legend is just how little he cares? Like... he doesn't care what people call him, what pronouns refer to him, if people find him annoying or scary or imposing or silly or what have you. All he wants is to learn, absorb mysteries like a sponge, and then one day send the right person to go solve all the mysteries.

Who I enjoy playing as most will change around over time for various reasons, but this guy's notable. I don't get to play him often because he's a horrible person: twisted, deceptive, murdery, favors making surprise kills, so plenty of folks don't really want to play with him and I'm not particularly comfortable playing him "properly" unless I know that other player(s) decently and can be sure we're on the same page about things.
That said, I've done Trick-or-Treat the forums with him once or twice (ran at least one), and there's a "Kissing Booth" topic in a group where he's one of the available kissers, and he's got a tasty little rivalry with one of the vampires on staff. In RPs where I've gotten to explore more with him, playing him can be disturbing at times, but also quite fascinating in figuring out how his perspective and workings impact things.
Possibly the most interesting version of things so far has been a variant that gets referred to as "Kelson Jackson," where "Kelson" is a couple/ship name (the other character in it being a kelpie named Kellie; a few people tried dubbing them "Jellie," but while that is pretty dang funny and kind of accurate, the other player and I favored "Kelson"). It started out as a "let's see what happens when our water-themed serial killers who pretend to be human hang out" that quickly moved on to "let's see which of them finally just murders the other first." Instead, a very curious and specific sequence of events lead to them ending up "married" as a very dedicated and surprisingly healthy couple - without actually violating the fact that Jackson is selfish as heck, technically asexual, and arguably aro, because the different ways he works opened up alternative ways for all of that to work out. Jackson also counts as infertile, since I determined him incapable of producing life - but that hasn't stopped him from so far figuring out three alternative ways to have kids with Kellie (because Kellie actually really likes being a mom), only one of which really counts as adoption.
He's also proven to usually be a surprisingly good dad - even if that does sometimes involve entertaining his kids by throwing them over waterfalls, at least until Kellie gets annoyed and throws him (don't worry, it actually delights him
). But that, too, uses alternate reasoning; Jackson has no natural paternal instincts, and instead relies on a mix of his master-crafter's attachment to his "masterpieces," his understanding that keeping the kids happy and healthy will help keep his wife happy and healthy (which has become necessary for him to be happy and healthy), and the understanding he's learned of psychology and stuff that he's gained over his long life and has commonly used to help manipulate and lure in his prey.
So yeah, overall a fascinating character to just... explore.

My favorite oc usually changes every few months, but for the past year my brain has been FIXATED on this guy. He originated on the among us amino in 2020, where I bought his original bean-like crewmate design from someone with the onsite currency. From there, I roleplayed with him as an imposter; but with a bit of a twist. He’s an alien beast who isn’t quite comfortable with his own innate violent tendencies.
Over time I gradually changed his design. I made a humanoid version of his design, and from there it’s kept changing and changing. Around 2024 is when I got into biology in college and decided to apply my learned knowledge to this character. In 2025 I finally got around to adding more depth to his backstory, and explored more with the body horror aspect. Now that we’re in 2026, I think i’ve finally landed on a design I’m happy with.
Overall, it’s been a wild ride with this OC. My favorite roleplays with him have actually gotta be the more recent 1x1 stuff i’m trying on this website.
Fun fact: He has over 60 art pieces and counting. You can find alot of them on his toyhouse gallery
I could ramble about this OC all day but I think i’ll stop here. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

My favourite character is (no surprise) Marionne Seymour here. I think 99% of my time role-playing and story writing is done with her here. Being a radio nerd since a child, I wanted to be a DJ. I listened to my little AM-FM radio and I did research into radio stations from the 1920s onward, and I volunteered with my local community radio station as a teenager (4ZzZ 102.1 FM).
But life and reality had me pursue another career path, but the love for music instilled in me by my grandparents and parents has me holding a vintage stereo system and a huge collection of vinyl albums. My DJ career lasted a half-hour when I was invited to co-host a program and read the news while volunteering, but the great thing about role-playing is I can 'be' the DJ of my childhood dreams.
Marionne is a mash-up personality of a few different female DJ/Radio personalities I know or have discovered; namely, 'Judy Jetson' on 4ZzZ and her long-running 'Subterrania' radio show, and Maxanne Sartori, a legendary 1970s female rock DJ when the genre was pretty much a 'men's club'. Marionne's namesake is Marion Seymour from radio station KZAM 92.5 FM from 1975, and also WNEW 102.7 FM's Alison Steele 'The Nightbird' which I used to model Marionne's 'Moonlight Mile' radio show from. I could go on and on. I love writing Marionne, and hope to share more of her here this year!

Came up with Molly because I was lacking a heavy fantasy/medieval type character that could also be used as a kind of ttrpg character too. She has been though a couple big changes since I birthed her from my imagination and while I haven't had much scenes under her belt, I do have high hopes for her and plan to put her through the wringer.
Overall I'm eager to see what adventures she goes on and how she developed as a character. How will the things I put her through change and shape her? God, I'm excited for all the possibilities and paths she will take.

Yay! A raffle! Thank you! These are always so fun.
As far as favorite characters go, it has to be Effy. She's so much fun to write/play no matter the setting. Her very first incarnation was actually a pathfinder campaign. She got all the way to level 20 and in end game even became a demi goddess in her god's pantheon. Dream come true for the little halfling cleric of Yondalla honestly.

Chiharu is my favourite OC to write with... And nobody who knows me is surprised :>
Their biggest selling point, probably, is that they're very versatile, and can fit into a wide variety of stories without being fundamentally changed. They can exist across different time periods, due to being (probably) immortal. Any setting that allows non-human characters can likely make space for Chi; while the default is modern/urban fantasy, nothing is stopping them from having adventures in the past or future... In fact, I'm hoping to put them in a spacey-sci-fi setting, one day...
The tone is flexible, too. Chi can be silly, they can be serious, they can be sad... It all depends on the situation and the overall vibe of the story we want to tell. They'll always be themself, regardless of which aspects of that they're showing to the other characters.
Chiharu also embodies a lot of the tropes that I enjoy, like "totally a regular human, nothing to see here", "dang, being immortal actually kinda sucks when everyone around you is mortal", and "smol but full of chaotic energy." They're a lot of fun for me to write in both silly and serious contexts. Lots of room for goofy shenanigans, angst, and anything in-between.
I'm also a big fan of them aesthetically; I threw in a lot of my favourite design elements when deciding how they look and dress.
...Also, I just really like foxes, and Silly Little Guys(TM)
In essence, Chi is everything I love all smushed into one character ^.^
As for how they came to be... I can't remember. I think I just really wanted to make a kitsune character... And since I was so fixated on them, I tossed in everything I liked to make them the most fun for me to write about.
Okay, that's my ramble. Thank you for hosting this, by the way. ^.^

If I had to choose, it would be Anya, also known as Ace! This gal has been with me for the past 5-6 years, around early 2020, and one of my most favored OC since.
Her development over the course of years has been a rollercoaster ride, honestly. She was originally made as a sort of Backrooms OC, a concept which came to be my biggest hyperfixation and interest yet, for a "roleplay" between me and my friends (I think drawing comics in books and passing them from one person to another so they could draw their respective character's reaction counts as a form of roleplay?). It was mostly leaning towards survival and liminal horror, and her first name and design, as well as her traits and personality used to be so much different than now, with her name being Azure and had a reserved personality.
She wasn't a main OC back then, unlike my other character Achiell who was still on my top main OC for the past decade, but a year after, when I consumed more Backrooms media and reading Lovecraft's books, I began to plot and scheme and thought "Why not combine the two together and make
And so I did. I am cringe but I am free. Originally, Anya was supposed to fall into the Backrooms and somehow became a vessel for an ancient eldritch being, and from then on, she traverses the "dimension" to try and get that Thing out of her before it's too late. The story changed a lot from there, and eventually it shaped the character Anya is now. The story and world she was set in were revamped too, with the help of my friend. And, while it is still heavily inspired by liminal horror and the Backrooms, I took a turn and implemented high(?) fantasy elements, which kinda took away the whole 'liminal horror' thing I've got going on. 'Native' entities, Royal Court, Deities, etc. This time, Anya was involved in a prophecy, despite being a 'wanderer' (a term used for people who fell into the realm), some sort of 'Chosen One' as she somehow ascended to become an Avatar of one of the Pillars (deity), but the twist is that the sake of the realm depends on her entirely; if she were to follow a darker path, she'll bring destruction, but if she were on the 'good side', the prophecy could be avoided. Also something about a Big Bad coming back (he was a major antagonist for a prequel of Anya's story).
Paranoid of how the prophecy could end, and though Anya/Ace was allowed to roam freely, the Royal Court assigned her someone that would watch her every move and actions to the point where she wasn't allowed to interact with anyone other than members of the court or people 'approved' by them. Anya didn't took it well; she was thrown into another world, had her entire physique changed against her will (the 'human' form she has now isn't considered her true form but rather a 'disguise'), high expectations due to her new status, I could yap on and on but I musn't infodump too much lol.
Again, I could yap on and on, but I think that's enough (a little spoiler-y for future roleplays). Roleplay-wise, her story and setting is perfect for plots. For the past year, and not just on this website, I've been in either 1x1 or group roleplays set in the liminal horror-ish style world, with me as the GM/narrator of the setting and Anya as the main character I write as, and usually it takes place before the events of the Big Bad coming to light. Or, alternatively, after the whole thing as a sort of 'aftermath' of Anya's past actions. It's really interesting to see how the roleplays would turn out to be
Aside from her original story, though, she could fit in high fantasy or superhero roleplays. Other than that? I'm not sure how I could implement her in other genres. I could make her a whole new backstory, but it was her background that shaped her into who she is now, so I'm not sure :')

My new character, Coraline. It teaches me more about the Adepta Sororitas' and their way of life. Also helps me with learning about Warhammer and it's lore. It's rich with lore like a lot of other games.
Who else would it be than my little doe, that tender lovely anthro whitetail deer. I like to play her so much, in all sorts of situations. I can make her sensual, comprehensive, helpful and even fake hero. She can be clumsy, silly, lovely or grumpy (I haven’t much played her grumpy, as she thought to be harmless and without anger). She’s smart and yet kind of dumb ‘bimbo’, she knows a lot but was unable to learn to read.
My favorite play? All…. I have her written down in her dark past, with all the pain and other things. I came to write her as a fawn, a feral fawn. I have such a lovely play with her as Geisha or in a medieval town. Then she meets a lot of different characters, like even a tattoo artist that would hide her slave tattoo. She met a kitsune, a liger, a werewolf, a dragon, a shaman, another deer, yes of course a buck, her Max, an elf, twice the guardian of the forest, lovely humans and other animals, dogs, cats…. I don’t know how many. Few have seen her in public RPs. She made her Summer Soirée and Trick or Treat, she met cute and I-don’t-know-what-else. She destroyed a few kitchen with her cookies and she made love…
That doe has to endure deep psychological fears and cope mechanisms, she has cervine wisdom inside of her and she knows how to use certain instincts. There is no magic, only a shaman that transformed her into what she’s now. And yet she’s able to dance with simple music or have someone cry on her shoulder. I only do not have her violent in any kind of way, you slap her, she’ll excuse herself to be there. With that came the bracelet, Lizbeth wears a magical bracelet, the idea came from the kitsune she met, he gave it to her. With that one, you can’t hurt her, a knife would cut the air, a bullet would pass unhindered through her, a fist would make a hole in the wind. I used it to prevent unwanted violence. I know it’s a bit godmodding, I don’t care, nobody hurts my little doe!
Lizbeth grew by time, she came knocking on Max’s door and quickly a complete story was invented. All the background story came slowly built. Almost every RP made a piece of her story, even now it’s not fixed in concrete.
For some it’s off putting, for me she’s just there, unreachable and yet so close, that little doe.

I'd gush about him for ages.
This is my favorite character to play.
I’ve had him for years, and he’s been in two roleplays. One that ended prematurely, and one that’s still going.
I very much loved Skyrim and I started a high elf - but I, like most, defaulted to playing the stealth archer type, so I came up with the idea that Ta’arin was just incapable of using magic despite his lineage. And then it slowly grew from there as I added in his siblings and hateful mother (all of which i need to finish adding on his profile lol) and his ex-fiance, lol. And then, the RP that I started, was going to be him and another character (Adarra by vera_niko) basically doing the questlines for the master level magic books to see if that would help him earn his mother’s favor back. So Ta’arin was from Summerset Isles living in Skyrim.
Vera, regrettably, took an extended hiatus from roleplaying, though I did talk to her today because I couldn’t remember her RPR username, hahah.
I put Ta’arin back on the market.
Then, Wispydream found him and mistook him for a sun elf. Her character, Selene, I believe was originally a princess that was downgraded, and Ta’arin was upgraded to a noble to raise the stakes. Selene thought the entire kingdom was batshit so she ran off at a younger age. Ta’arin’s sister died, his brother ran away, and when Ta’arin was the only one left for the crown, his mother banished him from the kingdom and inaugurated Selene’s brother.
SOO Ta’arin hunted down Selene because of godly intervention or something, and now we have a massive enemies to lovers roleplay going on via forced proximity. 300+ messages and the most they got was a kiss on the head and some cute cuddles. SOON THOUGH. VERY SOON THEY WILL KISS AND SAVE THE WORLD.
Ta’arin is my favorite character to play because he’s almost a damn near reflection of me. Someone who was given a really crappy hand, and was really angry with the world to painfully learn you don’t have to end the day the way it started.
We’re both a work in progress but he has friends like Selene and I have friends like Wispydream and Vera_Niko so we’ll be just fine.
(And the others I've made, y'all just haven't rpd with Ta'arin, lol.)

Wow! It's so nice reading about everyone's characters and background!
Looking forward to seeing more additions over the next two weeks!

I DARE state that my favorite character is not Gillian Ambrose but, it’s actually The Myconid.
Playing with a character concept that’s extremely silly and flexible has gone from an experimental exercise to a series of super fun threads.
A cluster of mushroomies met a curious little doe at a forest party for the Meet Cute 2025.
Another one traveled through space to an exciting utopia of sugar snacks, trick-r-treat 2025.
Another has met a Dragon King!?!?
One met a strange mage.
One at least prepared and suggested adventures in November’s writing challenge.
And now the largest, so far, is eating some trash and witnessing their very first tavern brawl!!!!
Though I fell off on the November writing challenge, I had a good time thinking about what the story could become.
And since then, I’ve joined several new adventures!
I’m having so much fun playing a weird and silly li’l guy.

Could we try not to make this a joking chat thread please.
My favorite character would be my pride, joy, and pain Nirav! He's pretty much an amalgamation of a canon-character, OC, and homebrew I had back from years as a teen. He's one of my oldest OCs!
Back as a teen, I created a homebrew fantasy AU for a fandom shared between me and my friends, and the AU background I made for my favorite character was a necromancer bishop who'd summon the souls of the other characters in the RP. I love necromancers, and just liked the church-temple aesthetic lol. So those background traits were taken for Nirav, and then the character I roleplayed influenced Nirav's personality because he was a blend of personality traits I'm weak for: a charming womanizer, a doting 'big brother'-'wine-aunt' type, a dazzling ditz, and lastly, a "smiley" character that holds ice once his mood or temperment has been crossed.
Though, that canon wasn't the only influence as Nirav's homeland and the whole region is from another OC of mine (unposted). Nirav really pushed me to develop more of the world-building for that setting, especially with the magic system that I wanted to incorporate for Nirav.
Around the time I was developing Nirav, I was also learning about some homebrew from D&D and wanted a similar 'challenge' for myself, though I took some light inspirations from Fire Emblem, since I enjoyed storyline of warring factions, knights, clergy, and magic. That's also why I made my other OC, Efendi, because he was a character that adds onto Nirav's story and legacy (at least, to me).
Simply put, Nirav is very enjoyable for me to play lol. He's all the traits I like, but he feels uniquely him.
