My card (unsurprisingly) got rejected so I used PayPal instead, and then my bank started frantically trying to get my attention to see if my card had been stolen.

Eh, I appreciate them questioning why my card is suddenly being used for a purchase on the other side of the world. 
Finally looking over stuff for symbols and I see that the need to type things exactly right haunts us as ever.

Oh? I know it's a long time point of frustration that the solutions need to be, character by character, and exact match to the desired answer.
And yeah, it'll usually only be one word/name.

It is a struggle.
Also for the final fantasy 6 one I typed empty party glitch which doesn't resemble the 'correct' answer at all
So there's at least some leniency, or at least multiple solutions
Kim generally puts in several possible answers, I think
Sometimes multiple answers will be thought of ahead of time, if there're multiple applicable things!
Or at least common ways the thing can be known as
If I remember right, even spacing and upper/lower case mismatches have made people miss it many times before.
But sometimes the riddle-writer doesn't think of a thing, or the phrasing is just slightly off, or...
