Well, just be sure you're using photos that are okay for you to use. When I first started playing around with photo-manipulation, no one had really bothered telling me details about copyright and useage rights, so I technically ended up making a lot of images that weren't really legal. DeviantArt's pretty full of great free stock though, including some that don't even require attribution.

And if you haven't looked into it yet, you could try GIMP! It's a free and open source program with a lot of functions similar to Photoshop. Even better if you can find yourself a drawing tablet, they provide much more fine control than a mouse or mousepad.

Really nice elves.. I'm into dark elves too and have a DA. I use DAZ software for my pics. I love the shading and lighting on your pics. It looks painted. Thanks for the welcome earlier! You should check Aydr and Pluvio. I lost Pluvio's character when I switched laptops... A pic of him would be really cool. Pluvio is pretty plain. You might like drawing Aydr.

But you don't have to make them, save your time for people with a few pics first and then maybe put me on the back of the list. Also, this is really nice of you. Thanks for helping the community.

I have a new wood elf character that could use some art.

Copper skin, black hair and green eyes. Was thinking of a square jaw and a prominent nose. Would wear practical, earth toned clothes. Let me know what you think!

To add to this, it would help the mod team out a bit if you posted a link to the origina photo sources so there's no question the photographer released the rights to use them. Plus, if they are contributing to half your creations, it's just a good thing to do to give credit to those that are supporting your work.

I picture inch long black hair, and no facial hair. Elves with facial hair look cool but they're hard for me to get used to, lol.

Oooh I like it! Wont look nearly as nice as that picture, but I really appreciate giving me a face reference! The hardest part is accuracy.

Yeah I figured and I don't like borrowing art, but that the best I could find as far a facial reference. Wanted to give you a little more to go on.
