He stared at the floating man as he shook his head. "What a interesting character," he said as he kept drinking the alcohol in front of him. When he was done, he asked the bartender if there was anything else he could have to drink and surprise him.

He made an Old Fashioned, except he used the raw sugar he ordered on his last order.
He again paid for his drink as he nodded at Mathius to gesture a thank you to him. As he drank his drink, he heard that familiar voice wondering if it was him that was being spoken too.
Aleksandr Von Drakenfell wrote:
" Fear you ? "

Aleksandr scoffed, leaning over the table menacingly,

" FEAR YOU !? "

He gritted his teeth, face turning red and clenching his fists.

" SUCH DAMNABLE AUDACITY TO PRESENT YOURSELF AS SO ! "

Aleksandr leaned back, restraining himself

" The hour of civilities is past us, I cast my doubts as to your alibi but if I were to entertain the thought, then what, pray tell causes the preternatural glow of your eyes and the warp aura that surrounds you.... there can be but only one explanation underhive dweller "

unnamed-27.jpg

" THAT YOU HAVE BEEN TOUCHED BY THE RUINOUS POWERS THAT DWELL BEYOND THE TRAVESTY WHICH IS THE GAPING MAW OF CHAOS "

Aleksandr's guards moved in to grasp him gently by the shoulders, inviting him to return to his seat, as his gesture became more thoughtful and concerned.

unnamed-28.jpg

" Hearken unto me thus, I will make my investigations into your claims as I see fit and should the matter prove to have contradiction as to your claims then know that I will visit every desecration upon you until you are thoroughly annihilated. Hrnph... very well, for now I suppose you have staked your innocence in such matters... out of respect for Lord Kothinto I shall abide.. for now.. tell me then... what is a vampire ? if you claim to be such.

Aleksandr added dismissing the matter then but not without a final reprimand,

" And cast it into your mind that I fear nothing except "

Pointing to Szeras

" Except that thing hrn... back to the crypt from whence you came, phantom. "

Aleksandr turned to Mathius offering rum in the egg nog

" Your hospitality is ever a virtue Lord Kothinto, however I am partial to all except Amasec of notable imperial pedigree, given the auspicious denizens whom visit your establishment from our realms perhaps it is time to get hold of a rogue trader to supply as such. Of Amasec, I can be sure of... and making the hypothetical assumption that you were an Aeldari "

Aleksandr paused to wink at Mathius

" Which you are clearly not, I hear tell of certain exodites who are purveyors of rare blends of amasec and such and such within the depths of the webway "
He was surprised how this man acted towards him. If it wasn't a safe haven and this man and his men would know true fear. But he kept his cool as he was being yelled at due to what he had said. If only the man knew who he was. He was a devout follow of Nyx, the Goddess of Chaos. Not some Underhive deity.

"Audacity? The only audacity is yourself, kind sir," he said, but more in a mocking way as his fangs glimmered in the low light of the bar, He knew he had to be awfully careful with this one. He didn't need to be kicked out for unorderly conduct.

He ignored what was to come next. Him, a Underhive dweller? His aura? His glowing eyes? It caused something in him to boil up as he said, "Underhive dweller? Mathius I dearly am sorry for all of this. This man feels as though I dwell in some slum when I dare even visit such a place. And my aura has nothing to do with it...I dearly am sorry for what is going on here." He felt the eyes of Aleksandr upon him as he apologized to the bartender. He wanted no trouble with anyone, and this man's claims were all false. "And do pray if you are wrong? Then, sir, you are as foolish as the rest," he said coldly, his green eyes upon Aleksandr.

"Only thing that TOUCHED me is undeath. You wouldn't understand as your mind is simple, and a brute to add," he said as he turned his gaze elsewhere. He knew this comment would evidently cause issues, but for the moment he didn't care what this man thought of him. If only if he knew what he was and the fact he still had no knowledge of Slaanesh or any deities of this Underhive he speaks of.

Listening to Aleksandr speak again, he knew he had to prove his claim, or he faces a second death by the hands of this lunatic. "Ah. Vampire? We are undead, but we follow a deity you wouldn't understand. Nyx, the Goddess of Chaos. Don't be alarmed by her title. She is the only deity I follow. As to a vampire? I was turned in my 20s. I was infected by the disease...not by choice. How would it feel you were claimed to undeath by another? How would you feel then?" he asked as he turned to stare back at Aleksandr, his eyes cold as ice as he became more serious with each word coming from his mouth. "And this Slaanesh fellow? Sounds delightful...You wouldn't understand. Mortals never understand until they face Undeath for the first time. There is always a second Undeath...It's where you permanently die and never come back," he mentioned as he stared at the guards. "Men, I do apologize for any insulting manner I gave to your...general. I am not here to harm anyone. I am just here to enjoy the scene, that's it," he said as he gestured at them. He finished his explanation. It was all up to Aleksandr to believe his story. At this point he was far too old to care what others say.

"Thank you, Mathius, for such a lovely drink," he said as he went back to drinking what was given to him by the bartender. "At least one person doesn't think I am some sort of cultist to some ungodly creature..." he muttered under his breath towards Aleksandr.

Aleksandr shot a glance towards Esme, pausing for a moment as he studied her semblance and wares, looking at one of his guards and issuing a nod, the guard plucked a servo-skull tied to his belt as the device whirred into operation, the ocular device shot out strange beams at Esme, they were not offensive in nature but merely issuing a scan as per standard protocol.

The servo-skull's eye briefly turned a green color issuing approval.

Well met Adept Sidonia, if the auspex report holds true then you are under the tutelage of the esteemed Magos Harkoth; he must have seen great promise in you to take you in as such. I am Lord General Aleksandr Von Drakenfell, I command the 109th Independent Battle Group - Stygius Ferox. I had intended to beseech Lord Harkoth for his assistance in augmenting some of our tactical doctrines with his command of technology, perhaps you would see fit as to partake in his work and perhaps.... put in a word with Lord Harkoth that the Guard is in need of his services.

As much as it hurt to stand, Esme rose to greet Aleksandr. She used her cane to slowly maneuver herself out of her seat, shifting her weight onto it. “It’s a pleasure, sir,” she said. “I can certainly speak to him on the matter. Happy to help.“

Her eyes followed the servo skull, watching it with fascination. “This all brings me back a bit. Back in the day I used to make anything and everything related to explosives for the Legion. You know, before… before all this.” With her free hand, she gestures vaguely at her injured leg and the prosthetic eyepiece that very clearly is sticking out from some major facial scarring.
He stared around to hear the girl speak as he hoped she didn't feel he was some Underhive scum as well. It was hurtful to be be labelled so quickly due to his chaotic nature. He wasn't evil nor was he good. He was just himself. Damien Darkhart. He looked away to not get her to stare at him. The conversation between the two seemed serious enough for him not to get involved with.
Meanwhile, Xueqing put down an empty mug on the desk, content and satisfied. "It was good!"

He was ignoring the little girl. Last one was afraid of him. A scary monster he was called. He definitely didn't need another child fearful of him.
John Sidonius (played by balfiera)

John has been concentrating quite intently on a book, but Damien’s conversation piqued his interest. “You were turned against your will, you say?” he asks. “Hm. I normally wouldn’t consort with your kind, but in this place, perhaps it wouldn’t hurt.”

“I can empathize. All of my father’s tampering with the heinous powers of necromancy left me with dark magic flowing through my veins. I can’t control it. It disgusts me. Others, too.” John sighs. He takes a sip of the eggnog, which he doesn’t even like, and makes a face. “I’ve been seeking a way to purify myself. No luck thus far.”
"...dunno if starlight could help?-" Xueqing looked at John, seemingly tempted to try something new.

((Starlight magic in my lore is an upgrade from light magic, which focuses on purifying and healing.))
Hearing the man speak to him, he didn't hesitate to look at him with a gentle look on his face. Being asked about his dilemma was indeed something he didn't mind talking about. At least someone not a brute asked him the correct questions. "Yes...Against my will. And it's fine. You don't have to deal with my kind. I am far too old to be offended by words. Except from that brute," he said as he wondered what else to say to him.

He nodded his head as he looked at John explain his own dilemma. "It is a shame that your father would do such a thing," he said as he stared at John's expression. "I understand all too well. But when you lived as long as me, you will understand that it is futile. And don't worry what others think. You will only drag yourself down to the Abyss. I dare say you don't want this," he said warmly as though he may have found a kindred spirit. "Also if I could help you find a cure, I can. I suppose helping you wouldn't put me out of the way of things," he said softly as he drank more of his drink. He was now invested in helping John with curing his curse. "My name is Damien. Nice to meet your acquaintance...your name is?" he asked as he sat there being very polite. He was indeed older than the other perhaps.

He looked at the young girl and said, "Healing light? He needs more than that, my friend. He needs something more to cure his curse. This curse is more complexed than you think." He would know. Necromancy to him was a foul magic that not even he dabbled in.
"I DIDN'T EVEN TRY???"
The girl felt confused, mocked and angered.

((bro please keep a healthy boundary between in-character and out-of-character :skull:))
"I never said you shouldn't try..." he said to her slightly distant. "And don't feel like I offended you," he said as he shook his head a little.

((Huh? I am fully IC. XD You should know this with our role play.))
Despite the words, the girl still glared. Wasn't very comfortable being underestimated.

(but this dude isn't a god from what i can remember)
John Sidonius (played by balfiera)

“Starlight magic? I’m willing to try anything. But I probably wouldn’t be able to cast it myself. Father’s magic tries to choke out anything else I attempt to cast,” John said. “If you are able to, I would appreciate it.”

He listens to Damien intently. It surprises him to hear a vampire speak with gentility; it goes against his usual experiences with vampires, though in fairness, John is known as a vampire hunter. “John Sidonius. It’s a pleasure,” he said. He would have offered his hand, but for him, touching people did not often go well for the other person involved. The magic always found ways of leaking out.

“It’s kind of you to offer to help, even if you do think the effort is futile. I’ll take any help I can get.” He took another sip of the eggnog. He really wanted something else to drink, but this would do for now.
Illuminor Szeras (played by randomentity777)

" You abduct guardsmen off the frontline for nefarious experiments ! "

"Lord General, that was one time! Had you held your ground for a mere 3 more seconds I would have been able to acquire the Aeldari specimens that I desired." If Szeras still had actual eyes, he would have rolled them at this point. "Plus, I am willing to return what remains of those guardsmen so that they may receive a proper burial. After all, before my people sacrificed our flesh and blood for these bodies of living metal, we held great respect for the dead."
He saw her glare which made him uncomfortable. He wasn't sure how to feel about her now. He merely kept quiet to avoid her ire towards him.

((Who? John or Damien??))

Meanwhile he nodded at John. His manners were quite well known by many who has met him. He felt like he would shake the man's hand, but he refrain from doing so.

"Whatever you pick is fine with me," Damien said as he still kept quiet to the girl amongst their presence.
Talia al Ghul (played by LuckyS)

Talia al Ghul decides to enter Trixie's Bar to decompress. Tomorrow's a new day to begin her mission. As she approaches the entrance, the pistol in her hand is tucked into the inside of her leather jacket. Talia hears a commotion; her eyes shift to the room as she rounds the corner and spots the bar.

She avoids the chatter and heads to pick up her bottle of bourbon and a glass. The assassin steps towards the back of the room and finds a bench. Talia sits with her back to the wall; she begins to pour and drink. The burn of bourbon is welcomed tonight.

" We are distinguished by our trials Tech-Adept, wear your scars with pride knowing most do not live to avenge the blows dealt to them. "

It was clear that Aleksandr honored her as she gestured to her scars and leg, doubtless her technological prowess would see her to a better alternative not unlike Magos Harkoth.

" I will entrust you with this STC then "

The schematics seemed to display terran technology for small scale gravitic engines though clearly of a better make than standard issue servo-skulls, the materials were by no means hard to come by but the engineering was superb.

" I intend to augment squadrons with deployable servo-skulls which can communicate through a monocular interface via standard augur arrays, once patched in, the guardsman would be able to control the servoskull as if he were seeing through it... with stronger gravitic engines it open the possibility for the servoskulls to carry explosive charges... I think you know where i'm getting at, a swarm of maneuverable servo-skulls capable of navigating crevasses and cover and smiting the foe with explosive fury... perhaps you may improve upon the designs but it is for Harkoth's eyes... er... scanners... first. "

"Oh, alright then." Szeras scuttles out the door.
