Hi everyone! I've been looking for a site to make reference sheets of my characters, and this seems like a good one. I love to rp! But I see that this is a very broad site, so allow me to explain what type of rp I enjoy:
I generally write in paragraph form, completely freeform (though I may use dice or coin tosses when I can't decide between two ideas). I do not do minimum text limits! They're too intimidating, and my only concern is that you give me something I can work with, not that your post is long or perfectly formatted. I do care, however, if your grammar is awful or your descriptions are non-existent.
I rp very casually for fun. I like immediate satisfaction, which sadly gives me quite a short attention span when it comes to slow burn or lengthy plot-driven stories (there are exceptions). I also require some basic planning before starting an rp, because I need to believe that it's worth using what little energy I have to write it. Something as simple as "I play this char, you play this one, and the goal is for them to meet and end up falling in love," or whatever is fine, with periodic check-ins throughout. Such as, after a scene, I may ask "okay, what now?" if I'm not sure how to continue.
Also, as much as I appreciate someone with an open mind, I can't stand it when all someone says is "I'm down for whatever." That might be true, but it's not enough input. It makes me feel bizarrely awkward and I'm going to fear that I'm just being demanding if you claim to have NO opinion on what we do. Even if you reassure me that you don't mind, I just can't shake those feelings. Please don't make me do all the work.
Now, I'm a huge fan of really dark themes. Things that could potentially be triggering to some people. Because of this, I take boundaries very seriously! I will tip-toe around you until I know I won't say anything upsetting, and I will try to get as many details about your limits as I can so I'm least likely to take the rp too far for your comfort. This will stop, of course, after we've gotten to know each other better.
I love smut, and I will rp it with literally anyone who is 18+ as long as we can agree on a plot. Do not ask me for smut if you're under 18.
Finally, due to an unfortunate amount of people I've tried to rp with in the past who were agonizingly terrible at writing, I would really appreciate it if those interested in rping with me could provide a small writing sample before we get too deep into it. Some people have had good ideas, but then given me an entire text wall with no punctuation and no sense of pacing (or two lines following my two paragraphs), and it just hurts to try and engage with.
I suppose that's a decent enough introduction for now!
PS. I'm really into Boku no Hero Academia right now, so if anyone wants to rp in that universe where I play canon chars (you can be canon or OC, I don't care), that would be wonderful! There are several chars I'm willing to play, but the only one that I've stuffed full of enough headcanons to warrant a profile is Present Mic. Feel free to let me know how I can improve his page too, if you like~ I'm still new to the site, after all.
