Yo ho ho! 2018, return of the linguistic shenanigans! There was a whole new alphabet and number system to solve, that year, and again Heim and I wrangled with its wavy lines until we had it all smoothed out. ;) We also approached it completely backwards in breaking its code open, even when Kim and Darth had very kindly left us some early clues that would've made it much easier to figure out. Brute force for the win!

There was also a puzzle involving book spines that we-the-puzzler-team just made... hopelessly more complex than it had to be, hahaha. (To be honest, I find that sort of thing very satisfying, even when I'm tearing my hair out over it, though. Once the answer is stumbled across, it's just the best feeling.)

There was also a fishing and crafting component that year that was new! It was wonderful being able to cobble together and toss potions at other warriors, giving them the peg-leg up on our piratical foes.

Definitely when I fought the Sea Monster and ended up in its arms as awkwardly as possible.
