FOBETEO Magic

My eyes! I'm half-blinded by that blazing light! What could it be?! Why, it's the warmth and light generated by all of the kind words that were said during this year's FOBETEO!

691 kudos were sent during this year's FOBETEO. I was deeply touched by stories of bad days turned around by recognition, old falling-outs that were mended, and self-esteems boosted. The site starting to look more festive with all those candles was a fun side bonus, but the real meaning of FOBETEO is always in the personal connections. Is that corny? Yes. Do I mean it sincerely, with my whole heart? Triple yes.

Even as we may be enjoying our own traditions, it's also a good time to remember that for some in our communities, the holidays can be a very difficult time - perhaps it reminds them of someone they lost, or past traumas, current pandemic isolations, or maybe it's just the darker days making mental health issues harder to manage. Being Excellent to Each Other includes reaching out when you suspect someone may be struggling.
If you're struggling: Some mental health resources
If you're worried about someone: Guide to helping friends with mental health issues

I <3 you so much, RPR community. Thank you for being so Excellent To Each Other.

This was a neat thing to see for the first time. I appreciated that it was agnostic on any conventional holiday (as much as one can be, anyway.) It felt nice to follow.
