Happy Who Day RPR, by Darth_Angelus

As a community of adventure junkies, the Doctor seems to have special significance to many of us.

And as with any group of adventurers, it's only right that we spend much of our time recounting our favorite tales of glory. Here are a few of my favorite Who facts:
  • The show began in 1963 and ran until 1989 before being cancelled. In that time, they made 696 episodes and had seven different Doctors.
  • Douglas Adams (Of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fame) was heavily involved with the show during the Fourth Doctor's era
  • In 1996, the BBC teamed up with FOX to revive the series, only a tv movie was made but introduced the Eighth Doctor. But that failure to relaunch the series didn't keep the Doctor down -- the show was revived properly in 2005.
  • There have been three new Doctors since then, with Peter Capaldi set to take over later this year
  • BONUS MYSTERY FACTOID: There are 97 episodes of the First and Second Doctor that are missing as the original recordings have either been lost or destroyed. There is an ongoing attempt to recover these missing episodes and 11 were recently found.

Now it's your turn. What is your favorite memory of Dr. Who? How did you first get introduced to the series? What adventures has it inspired? Join us in the forums to swap your Whovian adventures.

Do.

Not.

BLINK.

The Weeping Angels are a great invention. In the olden days of Doctor Who, it was the Daleks that scared everyone, so it's good that there's a new creature to scare people ;)

I got talked into DW by one of my roleplaying friends c:
best decision I ever made.
The DW google game is really fun, the freaking weeping angel part got me though...
I think my favorite memory of DW was Rose getting left on the beach. It was so sad, but so happy at the same time. "I'm burning up a sun just to say goodbye."

I think the only thing in the show that actually freaked me out was the Silence. I don't like alien faces XD

I don't really watch the show, but the one thing that caught my interest was the Weeping Angel angle, so naturally I had to include them in the picture for good measure!

Definitely watched every episode including them and greatly enjoyed the concept for the creep factor.

I've been a massive Who fan, just watched the 50th special and... well wow, it was amazing. As River used to say, "Spoilers", so I'm not saying anything but... my mind is blown. Totally. I never expected what happened and I'm still bouncing around with excitement.

I can't believe I forgot the repeating alien! That was a favorite episode of mine for awhile.

WOW great job by TheOdiousOne and Darth! :D

Weeping Angels and The Silence are the two scariest in my opinion. And that creepy creature that repeats everything (knocks, words, etc). Those ones scare the crap out of me so badly.

Weeping Angels scare me pretty badly too.

But actually I think the Cybermen are the scariest of all. The Weeping Angels just kill you. The Cybermen... What they do is So. Gross. Eyaggh. Fate worse than death. D:
