Welcome to RPR! I'm glad you decided to jump in and get your feet wet! I understand completely, I was reserved at first and then saw the fun lively world of RPR to be very exciting and welcoming! You should check out some of the other forums, perhaps even chat, and meet those new rp partners that way! I'm sure if you have any questions any of us, or the wonderful mod staff, could help you!

Um... let's see. I'll attempt to go ahead and answer some of these questions, and address some of the things about personal preferences for RP. 8'D
I started off roleplaying via forums and instant messaging back when I was about twelve or thirteen? So that's about a decade under my belt concerning experience. I just recently got more into D&D and tabletop role playing as well! Though I had some ideas on how to go about that seeing as my dad has been an avid player of D&D since he was younger, and has books from 1st Edition all the way up to 4th (though says the same thing that everyone else seems to say about 4th Edition in the fact that it is not that great :'D; ).
As for preferences, I don't really have too many. I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to what I'm willing to role play, as well as what kind of characters I'm willing to create. I guess if I really had to choose, I like medieval-ish fantasy settings, as well as modern fantasy settings. I'm also a huge fan of post-apocalyptic stuff (like Fallout), and zombie apocalypse (think more on the spectrum of The Last of Us or The Walking Dead). I don't really do too much of futuristic role play, though I'm not opposed to it.
I think what mostly changed my mind about joining was the idea of having a personal space for my characters that would have been theirs and relatively customised to their character. Something organised and easy to access in terms of having my characters' personal profiles was really appealing to me, and a lot of the people I used to RP with have been busy with a lot of real life stuff (ahhh... the life of an adult, am I right?). So I kind of wanted to find something that I could come back to every couple of days a week and interact with others that have the same wants and desires that I do when it comes to role play. :'D

And yes! I draw all of my characters myself. If there's any art done that's not by me, it is most likely a gift or a commission done of my character. :'D I value my characters along with my artistic capability, so I do my best to draw all the characters I have the patience for. 8'D

This community seems very open and welcoming, and I find myself very grateful for that. :'D Too many times have I come to varying websites where a lot of the company was... less than tolerable. :'D;;
I've actually already utilised the Find RP tab, and I browse it every now and again, as well as went ahead to posting my own RP proposal for any Neverwinter Nights or just regular ol D&D fans out there. Never really met too many people that are versed with Neverwinter Nights, though I might end up surprised before the end of this week! Who knows?
