Afterwards, Morgause went to rest. Things were going right for once, so she was able to rest easily. Her dear son was her champion, and a fine swordsman he was. After all she was there when he learned it all. So for the first time in a long time, she slept.

"Oh sir Mordred thank you, pardon my intrusion. I've been asked to tend to the minor wounds on the prince, well the wounds you haven't had healed yet any way. Though no wonder he's in this position anyway, stubborn old Mule he is."

"Guinevere, apologies for my rudeness, please, allow me to tend to the knight's supper, afterwards I'm all yours" yielded Merthyr

He came over to the fireplace and prepared the perfectly laid out platters of food, with the right amount of sauce, leaving them gently before Mordred, ready to eat, topping up the goblet with the finest wine and ensuring every detail was to his own standards and expectations, offering Mordred the opened napkin and bowing courteous before retiring to his rooms as stated

"Honestly that man has dedication to an art by this point. Shame though, such dark times in the castle."

"Well, Guinevere, my dear healer, tell what must be done and I will assist you in your given task. I am sure we both have heavy schedules tomorrow and can use the rest.

As soon as we're finished I will escort you to your rooms safely. Camelot cannot afford any harm to the queen Morgause or any of those at her service" smiled Merthyr his eyes drifting off towards the cup of retribution, relieved to see it wasn't empty

Morgana looked at Amber briefly.
"You said you are half witch... what sort of things can you make?" Asked Morgana softly and curiously

"The way your going, that cup will be empty before you know it."
She mutters to herself before approaching him.
"Is doing what I was asked to do."

Merthyr winced at her softly spoken words and laid on the bed, his back displaying the wounds and scars, he rested the chin on his folded arms and remained still

"When you see my aunt, thank her for your services on my behalf, assure her all is well too and that she need not worry unduly" requested Merthyr politely

"Make? If you are referring to potions then I can make many as long as I have my book." She smile softly upon remembering the book. She looked at Morgana and kept her smile small.

"Might be late for that my lord, my lady has already challenged the lords to a tournament. They violated blood ties she called upon. So she thought it was the most civilized solution."

Merthyr looked up wide eyed, bewildered at the news

"You must be mistaken surely.... Camelot cannot afford a tournament at present, I myself am but a servant, a slave, and so is Lancelot. Sir Gawain is the best candidate left but he may not defeat the champion of Orkney. If the tournament is lost, so is the crown and kingdom" gasped Merthyr, wincing as she treated his back further clenching his teeth and burying the head into his folded arms

"Show me how to make a potion that would make me fall asleep? I suffer terrible nightmares and resting is difficult" asked Morgana

"As I made my way here, I spotted sir Gawain on his way to my ladie's chambers. He looked quite troubled yet determined,"

"Let us hope he can delay the tournament or talk her out of it altogether" Merthyr sighed in relief.

"Are we done?" Asked Merthyr having been twitching his back from time to time, keen to accompany her and ask Morgause about the tournament, if Morgause was awake

She nodded and got up to get her book. She walke over to a small shelf and grabbed a leather booklet. "Here." She flipped to a page and saw she only needed four ingredients, sage, rose petals, water, and a single strand of hair from the person drinking it. "I only need theses things."

"I still need to do my job, now lay down."

"Lets do it then, here is a hair strand" offered Morgana unaware her strong powers would make the potion much too strong and drift her into unconsciousness altogether

Merthyr Tydfil nodded in understanding and stood still and awaited patiently for any instructions and the confirmation she was done.

She approached him and placed the rag against his back, it felt cool against the hot skin of his recently healed wounds, the water dropped down his back slowly as she rubbed the rag gently across his skin.

"Your a lucky man you know, surviving through all this. Still wearing a smile. And doing your best to repay your debt."

"I count my blessings, Guinevere, they are a reason to smile. See a knight without limbs cannot even be a beggar and depends on others just to survive, to live. I think, all in all, me and Lancelot have been so fortunate indeed. We still have arms, legs and eyes, so many have lost those in their sentencing, we are privileged to be allowed to serve" assured Merthyr

"Even in slavery we can live by our knightly code and do our duties well and strive to get better in all things" considered Merthyr

"I think it's madness what you've been put through, you did what you felt was needed to help the people. You were punished for caring too much, ever since that ban was put in place their has been nothing but pain and hardship. Any man who dares convict a man for loving his people...no his family so much deserves to be strung up themselves.

They tell you That it is the honest men that hang the guilty men, but when the honest men are hung. Who will hang the guilty men,"

"Guinevere, I cannot fix this today, my father may not listen to me or be willing to tame the laws, but sooner or later, when my father is no longer among the living, I will right these wrongs if it cannot be done any sooner.

In the meantime, Sir Mordred is a fair knight and worthy master, deserving of my services, among other castle chores I have been tasked to do. Sword or not, we remain knights at heart and we will still try to protect the helpless and do what is right" muttered Merthyr

"You do the bidding of guilty men."
She mutters to herself.
"Turn around, I need to take care of your arms and chest. To keep you from a fever."

"Of course.." nodded Merthyr feeling mortified but complying all the same, keeping a small smile

"One has to lead by good example to bring about change" muttered Merthyr
