We Hate Everything about the People that We Love

We are the lonely
We are the lost
We are the broken
We are the cost

That comes with the pain
That comes with the tears
That comes with the numbing
That comes with the years

Of pain and torture
Of denial and hatred
Of attacks and breakdowns
Of sorrow from the one we dated.

Intense.

But good as usual.

So I was digging through my room and came across...this.

Love This poem was for my now-ex-boyfriend, so it was hard to read when I came across it since...the breakup is still quite raw. But.eh.

Now I'm too far down
Too far in
Too far outta your town.

Now I'm struggling for air,
Struggling for your love,
Struggling for to find your hidden lair.

Now I can't even sleep,
Can't even focus,
Can't even kind a reason to keep.

Now I can't find the words,
Can't find the confidence,
Can't sing like all of the birds.

Now I'm yours,
I'm your everything,
All to do now is open the doors.

Now we're both trying,
We're both grinning,
We're both fighting.

We will rule
Together
We will be
Together
We will die
Together.

There is no need to worry
Now
There is no need to cry
Now
There is no need to try.

Nothing But Time

So here is the thing
It looks different today
But it's just my own eyes
But it's just my own mind

Some days, it seems like
There's nothing but time,
Stretching out, like an ocean
Plenty of time to

Get everything done.
Thing by thing.
One by one.
There are so many things,
But there's nothing but time!

But on days like today,
Everything closes in.
It seems like too much;
I can't even begin.

I feel like I'm failing
Before I can start.
I can fathom the whole,
But can't do one small part.

Because there's no time
There is no time at all
I can't make the touchdown
So why move the ball?

I'll stay in this dark, quiet, hideaway place
Dwell in the timelessness
Dwell in the grace

Where nothing is moving
Where nothing will change
Staying sheltered and safe
Where the world stays the same

But if I could see things
With yesterday's eyes
I could take on the obstacles
Over them, rise

And it wouldn't seem hard
As the track twists and winds
For we go, step by step,
And there's nothing but time.

#1First poetry

Love
Isn't it weird when i look into your eyes. I feel happy?
Isn't it weird when you talk, i giggle?
Isn't it weird that when i see you, i wanna cry of pure joy?
Is it weird that i get that nice feeling when i think about you?

That's your first poem? Aw. Thanks for sharing it.
Yup
So many great poems in this thread!

Here is my one and only poem, migrated from CrystalDragon's Ideas for Poetry thread so I'm not cluttering up that one with silliness. :)

Winner of the 1990-something 2nd grade poetry contest

I had a cat
who got the flu
Can you believe
he started to moo?
Would you moo too
if you had the flu?

Did I miss my calling in life? ;)

I am the thing they never see,
The nightmare in my dream.
The darkness in you and me,
I am the thought you cannot clean.

I need to stop.

You're an idiot.
And you used to be mine.

You're silly.
And that used to be mine.

You're pretty.
And you used to be mine.

You had a heart.
And that used to be mine.

You had your issues,
But you used to be mine.

Hahahaha

Ok I'm glad you moved it over here so that I got to read it.

Yep, missed your calling. Could have been the silly Dr. Seuss. Hehe :p

Anyway, that's super cute.

So...did it win by popular vote, or the teacher picked the best poem?

I'm just imagining a second grade teacher like, "Omg...someone understood that lesson on rhyming after all!" Lol

Like the angst.
#2 Feelings
I feel empty, strange and unusual.
Can you explain me what it is?
That feeling that everything is to much?
Can you give me a magic spell to take it away?

Here's music which would help when reading this poem.

My Way

Ever since I became adult
I was forced to choose side
us or them
and accept group ideology.
To become naive idealist
or callous cynic.
But I’m tired of them all
and their foolish quarrel.

Since when they all have forgotten,
To think for themselves.
To trust others.
To don’t get your hopes high.
To don’t expect the worst.
To make your own path…

Anyone who says that our futures
Are predetermined should be considered a fool.
Anyone who says that our futures.
Are random and we don’t have impact on them are fools.
Since Future is effect of our actions.
Actions which get put against other actions.
Yes we can’t predict it but we can shape it.
Most of time it won’t work but there would be time where it works.

So where do I stand in this massive world.
I’m not sure myself.
But I have whole life to find out it.
In mean time I will go on adventures
And enjoy little detours.
My path is my own and I’m forger of it.

If I will become anomaly.
So be it!
If I will have to fight against others.
So be it! But know that I’m not alone.
There are others who share my point of view.
They make their own path without care of what others think.
And that's my way!

Nothing is Worthy

No one is ever really independent
The signs are there and they’re frequent
I didn’t realize this, but for that second…
I was nothing…

My mother has told me I was this diamond
A jewel of worth that can be found in
The most deepest parts of my heart and…
I was nothing…

Potential is what they always saw
Which was the very background of my flaw
A wall I couldn’t move even if I clawed
I was nothing…

“You’re the salt to my pepper,
The chill to my factor,
The ROFL to my Copter”
Hehe…I was nothing…

Everyone needs someone real or imaginary
I’m serious, it's true so don’t think the contrary
That journal in your backpack or that kid named Gary?
With those...you are somebody…

Without light, the diamond I am can’t shine
I need people to see the potential I can’t find
I am the piece to someone’s life and that’s quite fine.

But I’m…
Nothing.

"Nothing is still Something"

Even in all those times that I felt defeated.
I'm glad to know I was something you needed.

...And needed nothing more

Life's a puzzle
Life's a maze
We can try to steer through,
A million different ways.
But in the end,
A broken heart
Is never forever a broken,
There's always a chance to defend.

Life's a puzzle
Life's a maze
We can try to steer through,
A million different ways.
But in the end,
Cracks in your skin,
Can always be resealed.
There's always a chance to defend.

Life's a puzzle
Life's a maze
We can try to steer through,
A million different ways.
But in the end,
A broken soul,
Will forever remain broken,
There's no more chances to defend.

Wow, Novatrix. I really like this. I think I feel the same way. About people. But it's easy to forget sometimes and think you don't need anyone until suddenly it hits you again how much you do. Anyway, point is, great poem!

Ooo...the first four lines of each verse sound like song lyrics. I like how it repeats and progresses.
