More men fell as the rag tag group assaulted them, but not enough. Hunter nodded to Isobel's question and quickly pointed to the other two people in suits laying on the ground. "Unconcious, I'll explain later." He paused, took a few shots at Arty's men, and looked back at her. "I promise." He didn't hear Rae, for at the time she asked he was around the corner shooting back.
He peered around his cover, a bullets hitting it as he did so. He still saw alot of men. The humvee that Rae had attacked had pulled away, but the other one was still there. Maybe they would have a chance. Maybe they could survive. Then a grenade fell at their feet. Maybe not.
Hunter scooped it up and tossed it quickly, but it was too late. The grenade exploded in the air, close to the trio. Hunter, with his armor, took the main blast, but the others would take as much of an impact as he, for they had no suits. He was tossed back, only a few feet, barely concious. His armor was charred and the green veins on his arms and chest had cracked. He had no more medicine in his suit to get him back up. He had one more hope left, the S.O.S that Mark had sent out before his heartbeat flatlined on Hunter's HUD.

The blast blew Isobel back, knocking her off her feet. She landed on her back, taking all the breath from her lungs. She got up as quick as she could but there were several men already coming at her before she had her feet beneath her. She lashed out at one, but missed by a wide margin. Her ears were ringing and her placement was off. When she realized her predicament, she took off in the air, several feet above the men. She winced as the bullets from several guns passed through her wings and hit her in the leg. She blasted energy towards the direction where the bullets were coming from.
As soon as her hearing was back to normal, she landed again, kicking two men in the face hard as she came down. Isobel still held the dagger Rae had given her before and now she gripped in her hand, stabbing it into any of the men that came close. She was trying to conserve her energy as much as she could.

Rae was going to run at the other truck, but she was saw the grenade. Her emerald eyes filled with fear as it went into the air. She flew back as the grenade went off. She had blood dripping down the side of her face. She landed on the ground, knocked out. Her heart beat fast, then slow. It felt like her brain was smashing into her brain. Her mind somewhere else, totally in a different world. The sounds of her mothers voice haunted her. It was like she was seeing her life repeat, when she was born, when her mother died, when she was abused, when she meet Hunter and Isobel, and even this very moment.
[ Which I could go camping! I've never gone before.
I'm stuck my whole summer watcher over 13 little kids. ]
[ Which I could go camping! I've never gone before.

Arty's forces saw their opportunity and seized it. They began to flank the group, ready to kill every one of them. As they moved the gun on the humvee was replaced by a larger gun, one used for big creatures. Things looked very grim.
((I leave for summercamp on suday, I wont be able to be on for a whole week then!))
((I leave for summercamp on suday, I wont be able to be on for a whole week then!))
Isobel's body felt slick with the combination of her blood and sweat and the blood of the others she'd killed. She couldn't hear Rae at all anymore, and Hunter was quiet too. That could mean that she was the only one left. Or at least the only one standing. She was personally hoping for the second one, but it didn't seem very likely with the entire group advancing now. A grim determined look fixed itself on her face. She wasn't very afraid of dying, but she wasn't going down without a fight. She attacked them with everything she had. Shots of energy, slashes and stabs with the knife. The inevitable happened though, and she was shot several more times in the stomach and chest. Several men came in to grab her, but she wasn't awake to feel them do it, she'd passed out from blood loss
All seemed loss for the little group that had been through so much, but all was not lost! Hunter and his friends were not the only Custodians in the area, and Mark was able to send out an SOS before to the others of their trade before a bullet pierced his visor, ending his life. This very SOS is what saved the lives of our three heroes, if calling them so pleases you. Every Supernatural Custodian and organization of similar trade recieved the SOS and mobolized as quickly as they could. The Choppers were the first to get there.
As Isobel slipped into the dark abyss of unconciousness, the enemy they had fought closed around, ready to finish them all. Hunter and Rae laid helplessly off to the side, cast into the same abyss by a grenade that had knocked them back. They would not stay there for long.
A chopper, high tech and packed with guns, tore onto the scene. It's bullets ripped into the extermination force, dropping them like flies. The humvee shot back at it only to be destroyed by the missil of a second chopper. Reinforcements dropped from the crafts and rounded up the few survivors that Arty's forces had. He himself took a large bullet to the shoulder and was unconsious do to blood loss. The day was won just like that, an unsuspected victory from a powerful unsuspected force.
The two creatures and the three Custodians were airlifted from the scene, being taken to a hospital to mend their wounds. Mark's body was recovered from the house and taken to be prepared for a proper funeral when the time was right. These two girls, Rae and Isobel, were now under protection from the same people that had hunted them before, the Supernatural Custodians.
Now in the hospital, the three more injured people were all placed in rooms next to eachother. Alyssa and Greg had also been unconsious just like Hunter, they just hadn't woken up. After a few hours they were able to recover enough to go home confident to be back to their old selves within a day or two. Arty was sent to a high security prisoner's hospital, he would be charged with alot of crimes. His forces had been obliderated the few left slinked into the shadows. Nobody would have to worry about them anymore. The last remaining question was who would wake up first? Hunter was still asleep in his hospital bed.

Rae laid in the hospital breathe. Her chest rise slightly, taking in the fresh air. She was still out, just taking in her surroundings blindly. Her body was still, except for her chest and the small movement she would give off. She was sweating, fighting against a spiritual force.
Some time in the morning the next day Hunter woke up. He still felt crappy but at least he was alive. He was told he must remain in the hospital for at least a few more days so they can monitor the closing of his wounds. While they could speed the healing up, the had to make sure that this amount of damage healed properly. As long as hunter didn't remove any of the bandages under his grey shirt and black sweatpants the hospital put him in, he was free to walk about as much as he could. The rooms went Rae's, Isobel's, then Hunter's, so Hunter decided to stop into the nearest room to see how everything was going with Isobel.
Isobel stirred slightly and gripped the thin sheets of the hospital bed. She was in between waking up and staying unconscious. She would've sunk back to the dark peacefulness, but something seemed off. She got herself to wake up and noticed the sterilized scent that made her immediately want to get out. She was also on her side, which was different from her usual position of sleeping sitting up or leaning against something. There was the sound of something beeping, which picked up and became quicker. She realized that was her heart monitor. There were several needles in her. Well, maybe this is one of my nightmares. She reached across to pull a few out of her arms. There wasn't any restraints on her though and she wasn't in a cage, so maybe this was a nicer sort of nightmare.
She was sore all over and her head throbbed. Isobel pulled out the needles in her other arm and did a self check to make sure that everything was at least still there. A lot of her body was bandaged and one of her wings was secured in a sling close to her body. Her head hurt and the events that had happened were still fuzzy in her mind. She tried to focus. Rae. Hunter. There was going to be a test. Then it seemed to slip away again.
Isobel sighed and shrugged her shoulders. She was sure it would come to her sooner or later. In the meantime, she was starving. A nurse came in, trying to tell her to get back in bed and let her put fresh needles in. Another one came in and brought a doctor. There was starting to be way too many people in that room, but Isobel reasoned they must not be too bad. They were helping her at the moment and she'd need a little bit to try to remember everything. One of the nurses left and brought back a lunch from the cafeteria, trying to bribe Isobel with it to let them stick her with the needles again. She shook her head. Rae. Hunter. "Where's Rae? And Hunter?"

Rae sleep quietly, until her dreams were of her mother. She was torturing inside and out. She had no idea about where she was. She thought she was dead. The quick fear that went down her spine told her she was alive. Her whole mind was twisted up in a puzzle. She woke up, her eyes shot open quickly. She shot straight up and screamed. The scream was not of pain or death, just pure fear. She put her hands infront of her eyes, she thought she was in hell. She slowly cried, a fearfully cry. Only somebody in the room would be able to hear her. She brought her knees to her chest, trying to calm herself down.
Rae sat there, zoned off. Her emerald eyes completely zoned off. It was like everything was frozen. She had a fever, sweat on her face. She looked around, no windows. Her breathing quickened, she didn't like hospitals. She didn't believe in hosptitals, she believed in natural healing. Her hand looked at the needles in her arms. She yanked them out, looking at the sharp tip. She threw it at the wall. She sat there rocking back and forth.
[ sorry I'm on my phone ]

"Now now, don't go sticking fly girl with needles, she hates that." Hunter's voice sounded from the doorway, behind the nurses. "Come on, she doesn't need you here right now, be on your way." He shooed the ladies out of the room so they left Isobel alone, but left the lunch there. "Nice to see you awake flyer girl." Hunter smiled.
Isobel gave him a grateful smile back. The nurses filed out of the room and she sat down to eat. "Thanks. Nice to hear you up and about too, Hunter." Her memory started filtering back in and her headache lessened a little. "So, what exactly happened at the fight?"
Hunter shrugged. "We won I guess. Mark sent out an SOS before he died, I guess they showed up. I'll have to learn more later." Hunter leaned back and looked through Rae's door, he saw some movement. "I'll be right back, I'm going to go check on cupcakes." Hunter smiled and slightly limped out of the room.
He knocked on the door then opened it, leaning against the doorway like he did Isobel's. "Well goodmorning cupcake!" Hunter gave a small laugh at the teasing.

She waved at him as he left the room, not able to talk with her mouth now filled with food. She washed it down with some water and finished off the rest of her meal. Hearing about Mark's death made her sad, but she couldn't help feeling glad that no one else died too. Hunter seemed pretty high-spirited and it affected her mood also. Isobel was able to relax a bit more than she usually did in a hospital. She still wanted to run out of there screaming, but it wasn't so urgent now. She gently felt her broken wing, wincing as she touched it. The doctors seemed to know something of what they were doing. The wing was set right and would heal.
Isobel wasn't very happy about it, but she'd be staying on the ground for a while. She didn't know how people could go around on their legs all the time. But then, maybe that was why they went most places in cars. She wondered how Rae was doing, but didn't want to butt into Hunter's visiting time. She'd go a little later.

Rae snapped back into her senses when she heard the door open. A small growl came out of her mouth. She stopped rocking back and forth. She stared at this guy, not knowing what to do. When he spoke, she thought she had heard it somewhere else. " Cupcakes... " She whispered, her emerald eyes looking at him. Rae looked at him, raising her eyebrow. " Who is Cupcake? " She said.
Rae couldn't really think straight. Her mind was everywhere, fighting and thinking. How could she know a human? His smell filled her nose and she growled. Her emerald eyes sized him up, then looked at herself. She was covered in bandages all over her body. She didn't understand what she was wearing, it looked like a hospital gown. She went to stand up, but a sharp pain came from her back. She fell to the floor, This is useless... This human will mock me and I need to stand.. Just great. She thought and looked at the human, getting ready to be mocked.

Hunter saw her stumble and ran over to her as she fell, catching her just in time. He helped her up and sat her on the bed. "Rae, it's, me Hunter." He tapped himself on the chest as he spoke, his right arm still holding her own arm just below the shoulder, making sure she wouldn't fall over. He looked at the girl, something was wrong, maybe he should come back and let the nurses help.
Rae looked at the human, her emerald eyes stared at him. She looked at him holding her slightly. She growled, putting her hand on his hand. " Hunter..... Rae.... " She said, almost trying to remember something. Her hand watched him tap his chest. She looked at him, remembering a bit of her past. Wasn't there something on his neck.. A cross. Rae placed her hand on his chest, staring blankly.
Hunter's cross, and his dogtags, were still there. They were tucked under his shirt but it had been requested by his friends that they leave them on for him. He looked at the girl, "Rae," his voice was now less chipper but more tender, "are you okay?"
Rae closed her emerald eyes, she was still able to get a little aura from it. Her emerald eyes flickered open after a little while. She removed her hand and looked away. She stared at the ground, remembering everything that had happen. Her emerald eyes then looked in Hunters. " No... " She said, using her hand to get the sweat from her forehead away.
Hunter took his hand off of her arm and sat next to the girl. "What's the trouble Rae? We're in a freaking hospital, we can fix whatever is wrong fairly quickly." He put his arm around her and gave her a half hug before putting his hands in his lap. "I'm glad you guys are alive still." He pondered if he should go and get Isobel, he didn't know how much she would like being in this hospital, even if she was a guest under protection.
