"How did we get so jaded? I don't know
Was it the white lies feeding our egos
I never valued minutes I burned through
Is that just how it goes?
Seconds I wasted, I was fixated
You're devastated, sorry to say
I can't fix it, is this where I give in?

(this is the chorus)
I'm falling through the hourglass
And I don't think I'll ever make it back
So I throw stones at walls I'll never climb
Victim to the sands of time
Falling through the hourglass
The hourglass"

Hourglass ~ Set it off (i may have cheated by giving the pre-chorus and the chorus, but they're the best parts of the song so... ^^;)
Rogue-Scribe

"Shapes of things before my eyes...
Just teach me to despise...
Will time make men more wise...."

(and again, the chorus)

"Come tomorrow, will I be older?
Come tomorrow, may be a soldier
Come tomorrow, may I be bolder than today?"

- Shapes of Things by The Yardbirds
"nee doko e iku?" "dokodemo iku!" nigirishimeta te to te
boku ga ite kimi ga ita hajimari no hi
- Suga Shikao - Hajimari no Hi

Translation:

"Hey, where are we going?" "We can go anywhere!" We clasped our hands together
I was here, you were here, on the day of beginnings

Just started rewatching Tegami Bachi / Letter Bee. The first opening song is one of my favourite all-time songs. And the anime itself is pretty great too.

Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side

Oooo...that's rather timely, Rang--The_Ancient. I like that song too.

Stop, hey, what's that sound? Everybody look what's going down.

Ha! It's easy to do when you love a song. I broke the rules earlier and I'm the one that made the thread, so...

'Ancient Ranger' works. :)

Somebody made a video that matches 2020 pictures to the 1968 song and it eerily fits all too well. :(

Today's verse is from a song a Brisbane band 'The Parameters' recorded in the early 80's at a time of police corruption and racial unrest in that city. It is quite fitting for what's going on in cities across the States.

"If you go downtown just beware" (Pig City)
"There's a demonstration in the square" (Pig City)
"The Boys in Blue are Everywhere!" (Pig City)

:-o You're living on the edge, there, Ancient Ranger! (Thank you. I just can't not think of you in my head as <Something> Ranger).

My verse:

From a distance
You look like my friend
Even though we are at war

From a distance
I've just got to comprehend
What all this fighting is for

And on a lighter note:

Well I got me a fine wife, I got me an old fiddle,
When the sun's comin' up, I got cakes on the griddle,
Life ain't nothin' but a funny, funny riddle!
Thank God I'm a country boy.

(might be cheating cause its a rock-rap song so one verse can be pretty long in terms of words...)

See, it all starts with bliss
as it plants a kiss, right upon your temple
Then your problems pile up on top of you
Impossible to block these issues
Temperatures rising off the charts
feeling like a strangers in my skin
I'm so sorry that I was hurtful
Pain loses when anger wins
I try to be thoughtless but regardless the darkness is closing in
when I fall apart, will you find it in your heart
to pick me up again
A shattered me, or scattered debris of the lucid human I used to be
but they cant know these demons I carry, I'm bearing a chilled disease

(all of that takes about ten seconds so its still one verse...)

Not alone, Discrepancies

It's cool. I like it.

Walking through The leaves falling from the trees. Feeling like a stranger nobody sees. So Many things that we never will undo. I know You're sorry I'm sorry to. (bob dylan-missippi-love and theft)

There is only two verses and no chorus in the 6½ minute song 'County Fair' by Joe Walsh. Here is the 2nd verse...

"Parts of the puzzle will never be found
And even though pieces are gone
It's a county fair picture
Part of me's there
Some of the pieces are still at the fair
And it may be forever"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'll add a second one... because I can....

"If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return
Would you do the same for me as I would for you?
Or take me for a ride, and strip me of everything including my pride
But spirit is something that no one destroys"

Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys by Traffic
MordosKull

Not my favorite song by any stretch of the imagination but..

At the end of fate, there ends the world
The birth of a new king!
Oh my lonely friend, come witness a new birth!
Witness the sight!
And what would you think?
Would you kneel for me?
Or would you go mad with jealousy?
Neither is my wish
But whatever happens to you will
Satisfy me!

And I choose.. NEITHER OF THE ABOVE PUNK!!
WE FIGHT!
nightmqre

they say that everyday the universe expands,
and we discover certain things that we don't understand, well
dark matter ain't the only mystery at hand,
i'm wondering how i got a girl like you to say that i'm her man.
it's a statistical anomaly but girl you got me,
gravity is pulling me towards your heavenly body,
no astronomical phenomenon could ever stop me,
you got a smile that every star in the galaxy copy,
the constellations couldn't make as beautiful a pattern,
the conversations every night, i ring you up like saturn,
the telescopes tell us folks that you're the coolest view,
a supernova scootin' over to make room for you,
'cause you eclipse every wonder of the cosmos,
it's almost unfair to them that you're the one i want most,
it's a miracle that Galileo never found you,
if he did he'd say the universe revolved around you.

- Fly Me To The Mood with an original rap verse
What the hells going on?
Can someone tell me please
Why I'm switching faster than the channels on T.V.?
I'm black, then I'm white, no something isnt right!
My enemies invisible, I dont know how to fight
The trembling fear, is more than I can take
When I'm up against, the echo in the mirror
