Laru scratched his neck a little awkwardly.
"Well, uhm... There's a small problem." He said. "... Sarasa can't sing in English."
Sarasa shot up, slightly defensively.
"It's not my fault!" He said. "I simply don't need to do it, so my voicebank wasn't built with those capabilities in mind. All those constant syllables and consonant sounds..."
Laru smirked, walking over and flicking Sarasa's nose.
"Sounds like you're just too lazy to learn, Sarasa." Laru said.
Sarasa crossed his arms and pouted playfully.
"Quiet." He demanded.

"Hmm... if a language database update's all you need, maybe I can help?" Kiyo smiled shyly

"You aren't a synthsurgeon, Kiyo" Ren chuckled "Besides, I dunno if either of them's got some sorta input jack or usb thingie"

"Ugh, you [softly said expletive] nark. My boyfriend here thinks it's lethal to add a language pack to a synth, which is literally common"

"Wait huh it is? Well, either way, I think we can play this "

Ren whipped out his phone and lent it to Laru.

"It's got some japanese in it, I reckon. OR, we could go do my girlfriend's idea."

"Chill, dude, it's 100% safe. Synths livin' in earth do this aaallll the time!"
Rohan Everstone (played by HealingDestruction)

The blacksmith entered the bar. He still has his leather apron tied around his waist. There sure are....unique faces around here, Rohan thought as he looked around.

A nice glass of rum sounded nice right about now. Though he doubted that the bar carried Triton's Rum, a slightly sweet and woody rum local to his hometown of Anchorpoint.

He walked up to the bar counter. “I would like a glass of rum. Do you have one that's on more of the slightly sweet and woody side?”
Flyta glanced up from her book, looking the newcomer up and down. Leather apron, a labourer of some kind? Couldn't be a cook, since she has never seen those who cook wearing leather like that; though of course she could be wrong. Some other profession?

"Sweet rum?" She asked, overhearing as she closed her book. I've never heard of that." She didn't work there so she didn't know what she had, though she mostly used what she overheard to start a conversation.
Gear Master (played by Taro_Nuke1)

Suddenly, Gear Master flys through the open window and lands on a table, putting the grappling hook away. "Hello hello, lol!" Gear Master waved before settling down onto a seat. "Sorry about the brash entrance, Just uh, I found someone which I think Mr. Mathius would recognize! Speaking of-"
Rohan Everstone (played by HealingDestruction)

He turns to look at the woman who asked about sweet rum. “It is more of a note of sweetness than anything.” Rohan lets out a hearty chuckle. “My hometown has a local rum that I just love.”

As if on cue, Korby walked in, with a cup of coffee in their hands. "Aaah... Mornin'. Been outside here for a long while... maybe too long than I can count... I was able to gather... y'know what? See for yourself..." With that, Korby drops 32 crates of pears. Just how long have they been outside?
*confused smol floof noises*

"ah, the tastes of home." She said with a smile and giggle, a warm smooth laugh.

"And where is home for you? Tell me about it." She asked as she offered the seat next to her at the bar counter.
Rohan Everstone (played by HealingDestruction)

Rohan smiled widely and sat down right beside her. “I was born and raised in a small coastal town behind a mountain range called Anchorpoint. I love everything about there.” He said with pride. “The sea breeze, the fresh milk delivered from both of the farms, the way that mundane technology and magic exist together, and of course, the community.” Both of their drinks, a tankard of mead and a rocks glass of rum, arrived in front of him. Rohan thanked the bartender and continued, “I'm the town's blacksmith, and my shop is on the mountains. The view of the harbor never fails to awe me especially when the sun is rising or setting.”

He took a sip of his rum and sighed, satisfied with the taste and the burn traveling his throat. “Anchorpoint has its problems, mostly political.” He shook his head and sighed. “I prefer not to discuss that here.”

“What about you? Do you have a place to call home?” Rohan looked at Flyta with curiosity.

"I do, but it has a bit of a smoky aftertaste. Can I get you a tumbler of it? Welcome to Trixie's. Our mascot should be in shortly to give you the official welcome"
Natasha Kitty (played anonymously)

Pats her mouth and yawns as she emerges, her nose resting on the brim of a coffee cup to breathe in the warm scent as she wakes from a long slumber.

She listened intently, leaning back in her chair as she figured she'd order a hot drink in a bit. Perhaps a heated mug of mead, or something else?

"Me? I'm simply from a mages college, living there." That wasn't the whole truth, she wasn't born there. But she'd rather not think about her former hometown much these days. "I teach and I study magic." She felt herself getting a little proud, raising her head a bit and nose turning upward. "Of course, simple for me. Others might find it a bit more challenging. But that's why we're here! To teach, and to forward the advancements of knowledge."

A high-pitched, feminine voice spoke from nearby.

"A mages college? How wonderful!" Azumi squealed in joy before appearing in a puff of smoke.

"Welcome dear friends, to Trixie's Bar! I am this wonderful bar's mascot and favorite kitsune, Azumi!"

As she said this, she proudly put two clawed hands on her waist. She clearly enjoyed being the mascot here.

"I am a 500 year old fox spirit with a Ph.D in Sorcery-Science! For your information, that's another way to say 'magic studies'!" She giggled "Also, I do have 4 other degrees in various fields of science such as, computer science and biology!"

"Y'really love telling people your degrees, huh?" Ren chuckled

He noticed the new arrivals and smiled, though he never made eye contact with them while introducing himself.

"Ren Hemmberg, musician and summoner of this fox spirit"

Jooters breaks down the wall, the little sorcerer putting on his magician's hat and taking out his staff.
"DID SOMEONE SAY MAGIC???"
Fumizuki waves to Jooters. "Hi fwend!"
Jooters Blaccat (played by Jooters)

Jooters turned to Fumizuki and waved excitedly.
"Hiiiiii!" Jooters exclaimed. "Sorry I was gone for so long... My dad wanted me to focus on school instead of adventures."
He sits and pouts. "He's a butthead..."

Sarasa shook his head. "Unfortunately, I would need to have entirely new training data and training done for cross lingual synthesis support. And my creator has stated he isn't currently interested in doing so, be it for my old concatenative synthesis or even my newer AI synthesis methods, the latter of which would require less work."
Laru tilted his head. "Which did you use in that performance we just did?"
"Concatenative." Sarasa replied. "My AI model doesn't have the power or feel that Akanbei would require, as it's modelled off of a softer, smoother tone."
Laru hummed and put a hand to his chin. "Maybe we could cover it with me singing the English parts and Sarasa singing the Japanese parts?"

"Sure" Ren said while playing the E minor scale on his guitar, along with the melodic and harmonic variants of the scale. He was not a fast player, preferring careful and more deliberate playing, however it does not mean he was incapable of doing so.

Kiyo, on the other hand set up a drum track on the bar's speakers using her laptop (Azumi was too busy greeting the new arrivals) and began to warm up by playing slap bass, a technique Ren deemed unnecessary given the lack of it in Raise Your Flag causing him to roll his eyes.

"Hey, c'mon!" Kiyo laughed "I mastered Slap Bass bro!"

"I know, I know" Ren smiled "Anyway, finger or pick?"

"Fingers, duh"

"Alright!" Ren said and performed a heavily double stop before yelling "Hey chooms, who's ready to go supernova*?!"

(*Supernova. Slang. A term replacing the slang "nuts" as in "going crazy". Predominantly used in the Philippines' Japanese-Filipino ethnic communities, particularly in Hill City, Laguna. Taken from Cyberpunk's slang, "nova", a phrase also popular in the country.)
