Captain Robbins (played by HRA) Topic Starter

It was a kind of hell they didn't like looking at. Hundreds of people were just mowed down by those... Akrids, in an hour. They retreated to the fortresses, where huge guns could keep the creatures at bay. But it was decided. Because the enemy used a biological form of warfare, they'd use gas. But they'd have to act fast. Two hundred thousand soldiers were en route to them now, and they'd be their reinforcements.

Gathering whatever men he had left, which was numbered at 9000, the Captain began carefully planning an assault. He had enough tanks, enough aircraft, and enough men, to take over a few of the cities. At least, he hoped. The orbital bombardment moved towards the fortresses on the other side of the planet, leaving craters in the wake.

Finally, they did it. 4,000 men would ride in the tanks, inside the transports, which would ride on into their lines from head on. The other 5,000 would be split into two, leaving the two groups of 2,500 to attack the enemy sides. They targeted the nearest city, and began the shelling.

From the base, huge 800mm artillery cannons open fired, going off in groups of 40. The shells flew through the air and smashed into the enemy city, crashing through buildings and exploding on the ground. Out of every 10 shells, there was one Mustard Gas shell, which the enemy had not, or could not, know about.

Donning Gas Masks, the men began their assault. The two groups of 2,500 men worked on the sides, running in as soon as the barrage stopped, but made their own small barrage of mortar and anti tank fire. The anti tank guns were aimed at whatever large Akrids there were, blasting their legs and heads off, killing dozens.

Then the first group drove in. The carrier tanks had huge 20mm machine guns pounding the enemy side, while the tanks drove in swarms. It was unlike anything anyone had seen. Huge dive bombers and super heavy bombers flew overhead, the dive bombers targeting the enemy sides, while the super heavy bombers flying over the other cities, dropping their 100,000 pound payload onto the buildings below.

"Get him out of my sight! He can rot in the dungeon, for all I care! I will win this war! You will not make it out alive if you question me again!" Arik shouted, knowing full well that the battle for the Neutral Zone (the planet where this battle is taking place) was going quite well. In their favor, he knew. The SA got in, and grabbed Laroche's arms, motioning for him to move.

"That's the Frigate Robbins is on. Get closer. I want to get him aboard." Duke ordered, programming the coordinates in. This was an odd day. "Wait... what's that?"

Duke had gotten a blip on the scanners for five seconds. It was huge, almost 13 kilometers long, and most definetly a ship. The Ghost Ship. It was here? How could it be here? He didn't see it at all! Like it was said... what an odd day.

*****

"I did it, sir. I think I found it."
"Found what?"
"Your ship. But... I can't see it. It's only on the scanners."
(sigh) "The ship will reveal itself in time, my friend. All in good time."
"But you said..."
"Yes. It will call out to you. It's doing that right now. That's why we're talking."
"When will I lead them to you?"
"When you find the ship."
"How will I do that?"
"It's in the records. Look in the records."

Robbins's eyes opened, but he didn't say a word. Not a single word. He just gathered in his surroundings. Where was he? On a frigate. What was his name? Captain Robbins. What was the year? 2112. But wait... it was always 2112, wasn't it? Why was that?

He sat up now, having gathered his thoughts. He knew what he had to do. He didn't know why he was going to do this, but he was going to find that ship. He was going to find certain things, and he was going to do that now. "Joel? Are you there?"
Laroche Peyton (played by Jabonicus)

Something was wrong with the city. It was a fact no soldier could deny. Soldiers were in places, but they weren't war groups, privates and workers were what they were. Other than that the city was empty. No resistance was had. Something was wrong. The ground shook as several Akrid walked between the buildings, each one almost as tall. They resembled crabs in a sense, but the Vorg's were much deadlier. Their thick hides absorbed most bullets. And it's claws would either crush or smash tanks. Small machines were on their backs, pumping testosterone into the creatures. Several of the creatures fell before they got to the tanks, others tripped or were hit by debree. Anti-tank guns would wear away at their protective armor, revealing the red membrane that protected it's innards. Their attacks were short, and so was their oxygen. The only thing keeping some of them standing was the adrenaline and testosterone that they did not naturally produce.
Laroche felt nothing but fear. Not at what was happening, but what NEVEC had instructed him to do. Every soldier had one thing in them, a final weapon, the one hing that made them abandon sections of E.D.N. III. And he started coughing up blood. Then he felt nothing but pain.

(I just edited that.)
Augustus Terminus (played by HvyArtillery)

"Sir, we are receiving a priority 1 message from Fleet Command." The comm officer reported.

Captain Terminus sat a little straighter in his chair. "Put it through."

The comm officer nodded and hit a button. Immediately, the voice of Admiral Williams, commander in chief of the Coalition forces in this sector, punctuated the air.

"This is Williams to all United Coalition Ships in the sector. Reports that the NEVEC-HRA War has reignited on the Neutral Zone. Coalition Civilians and interests in the zone are now at risk. Nearby ships are to proceed to the Zone and begin evacuations."

With that the transmission ended and the Captain sprang into action.

"Plot a course to the Neutral Zone, maximum warp!"
Joel Ravage (played by Kurt)

Joel made slow heavy steps to Robbins. His massive hand pushing a few people to the side as he reached up and removed his helmet, "Good to see you are awake. Be a waste if you died before the battle started." he gave a half joking laugh, "Who else knows how to cage a raging bull?" he stood there, his face growing serious, "What happened?"
Chris (played by Chris_Pike)

The crew had heard stories of this vessel, They all looked panicked, Some more than others "Shall we break off or attack it or something??" The Tactical officer asked, He had almost no look of panic on his face, though that was because he was trained for combat
Erren Saetine (played by Terel)

Vaera System, Vaniya Planetary Orbit, 14.6 LY from the HRA/NEVEC Neutral Zone

Erren stood on the bridge of the Celora class Battleship Divine Radiance. The great warship was the flagship of the Third Fleet, her sleek curves and lines were graceful, beautiful... and she was deadly.

Supporting the Divine Radiance was a Vinidis Ultracarrier, Heavenly Host and a Geredon Dreadnought, Sword of The Guardian. Escorting the three capital ships were several hundred Hrleis Heavy Cruisers and Morphus Medium Strike Cruisers, as well as a screen of lesser frigates; Tysha Light Frigates and Xa'Denvora Long-Range Frigates.

This fleet represented the main Xin'Ta'Faxi force in the sector, guarding the Imperium's borders vigilantly as reports arrived that the HRA Empire had re-ignited their conflict with the NEVEC Corporation. The Imperium had not entered into an aggressive-expansive phase for nearly two centuries, and they had been content for the most part to maintain peaceful, if sometimes cool, diplomatic relations with the rest of the galaxy.

But with the advent of war, the Emperor scents a chance to exploit the weakness of heathens and infidels. War near the Imperial border could very well threaten to destabilise the Imperium's border colonies, and the war would likely weaken both NEVEC and HRA forces.

It was thus that the Third Fleet had been ordered to leave Xin'Ta'Faxi territory and observe the conflict between the human factions... and if necessary to bring the Peace of The Guardian upon the region, through the application of force if need be.

Erren turned from the holographic display of the blue-green world which his fleet was in orbit of and smiled, "Commander, signal the fleet. It is the Emperor's will that we go unto the heathens and guard against violations of the Imperium's sacred borders. He has granted me permission to annex worlds from which The Guardian's Light will shine brightly."

"Yes sir. Fleet signals ready." His executive officer reported.

"Good, engage Quarion Generators... open the hyperspace window. Be prepared to engage the heathens."

"Do you think he's on to me?"
"Who, Captain?"
"Robbins."
"Captain, he's always onto you."
"What makes you so sure of that?"
"He's with you wherever you go. Do I need to explain this?"
"No, I think I get it."
"Good."
"Is he ready?"
"Not yet. When he finds the ship, he will be."
"When will we talk again?"
"At the station."

"I'm not sure what happened, Joel. I just had a dream... but I can't quite remember it. I'm just picking out parts of it. Just vague, short parts, though." Robbins said, remembering the last two lines of the conversation. Something about a station... station... and records. Could it be the Library Space Station on that asteroid?

He got up, driven by some odd force, to the main controls of the shuttle. They were going to the Scimitar. From there, they could travel much, much faster to the space station, and get that information. "Scimitar, this is Robbins. I'm coming aboard."

And the shuttle shot out of the hanger bay, flying from the Frigate to the Heavy Cruiser. The trip would be quick, but it could be dangerous. At least, he hoped it wasn't. You never know, though.

****

"No! Do NOT attack! The Ghost Ship is at most, 12 kilometers long! We're only 5." Duke ordered, and he couldn't panic. It would do no one any good, and the SS were trained not to feel any type of fear at all. At least, most of them were. "Open the hanger bay doors. Let them in."

****

There wasn't much hope for the ground troops if they continued fighting the creatures like that. They had to pull back and let the PaKfronts (10 Anti Tank guns concentrating on one target with one officer in command) Deal with the largest of the creatures. They soon realized that it was a good tactic, but that there was an even better way of finishing them off.

"Call in the Frigates!" The commanding officer ordered, and 10 frigates, all with atmospheric capabilities, flew into the area, targeting the creatures with their Las turrets, raining destruction on the creatures. The Las turrets were huge, double barreled turrets that had a great rate of fire.

Not only that, but the leading ship was a Destroyer, with huge gun turrets. While the Frigates were 300 feet or so, the destroyers were 1500 feet, and they didn't waste time in reducing the ground to dust before the massive creatures. They specifically targeted the huge creatures with their guns, pounding them.

In space, the HRA Navy managed to form a powerful blockade around the planet, cutting it off from anyone who tried to get in. It didn't matter who it was. Only HRA specified ships could land and load/unload freight or passengers.

Arik, meanwhile, devised a strategy to wipe out the NEVEC. It involved planet hopping, which was a large scale version of WW2 Island Hopping tactics by the US Navy. They would take over planet by planet, bombing them and then invading. Hopefully it would work.

Pressing a key on his computer, he contacted Hunter. "Hunter, I need you to do two things for me. First, I want the whereabouts of Robbins. Second, I want you to spy on the NEVEC members. Can you do that for me? There'll be a substantial reward for it."
Augustus Terminus (played by HvyArtillery)

A few kilometers away from the Neutral Planet, the Constantine dropped out of warp.

"Go to Yellow Alert." Terminus ordered.

"Yes sir, shields online, medical staff and damage teams standing by." the tactical officer, Balur, reported. "Shall I bring weapons to standby?" He said in a guttural voice, standing up and eyeing the planet. He was a Tilion, a warrior race.

"No Lieutenant Commander. We don't want to send the wrong messages." Terminus replied smoothly. Tilions had a love for war and battle, and the Captain knew that his tactical officer would ask such a question. He also knew that Balur was loyal to him and would not violate the order.

Sure enough, Lieutenant Commander Balur grudgingly returned to his seat. As Terminus turned his attention back to the viewscreen he heard the Tilion mutter something about 'weak humans' and 'if this was a Tilion ship...' causing him to smile slightly.

"Sir." T'lal'ji interrupted. "I am detected a large amount of HRA ships in orbit, they seem to be enacting a blockade of sorts." It hissed.

The Captain thought for a second. "Helm, take us in. Comm, hail the HRA fleet command ship. Notify them that the Coalition is her to evacuate and more of our ship are en-route with the same mission."
Laroche Peyton (played by Jabonicus)

Two NEVEC Engineers and one of the Beastmasters stood in the NEVEC tunnels underground.
"Should we release it?" One of the Engineers asked.
"No, not yet, it's not ready. It will go rabid." Replied the Beastmaster.
"That doesn't matter! The Vorrg up there will only last so long!" The other Engineer stated.
"Then we send the Gorevorrgs." He replied.
"Then they plant mines. Jumping mines. Or something, I don't care how thick the armor on the Gorevorrgs are, we need to send Akrid X!"
"It will go rabid and attack us both."
"Then we fly off while it deals with the HRA!"
"You know we can't fly away from Akrid X."
"We can damn well try."
"Remember the last Akrid X? We thought the Railway gun had blown it's head off. It grew back. It doesn't need a brain to live. That... thing is barely Akrid."
"Then we hide down here until it finds someone else to kill."
"We are sending the Gorevorrgs. If they die too quickly, hopefully Akrid X will be ready, if not, we send Green Eye, then Underkeep."
"We are sending Akrid X, it is the only one that isn't supplying us with Thermal Energy."
"Once Underkeep is gone, or when Akrid X is ready, then we send it in."
"What about that Peyton guy? Didn't he have a Tarkaa egg inside him?"
"If it doesn't kill him, he will come back, but it will surely weaken their inside forces."
The Beastmaster walked deeper into the complex, while the Engineers took positions in the control room.
"We have to find a way to send Akrid X, Underkeep isn't a match for hundreds of tanks."
"Agreed."

Larger Vorrgs appeared, the Gorevorrgs, but it wasn't their total size that was bigger, but their claws and backs had denser and stronger material. Cannons would chip it, and it would take several blasts from space to take one out. Too late to keep it from destroying at least a few tanks each. Goonroe (Pack Hunters) would swerve around tank blasts as they took out footsoldiers.

Laroche began spitting out blood, and began to choke, he lay on the ground of the cell for minutes, until he passed out. Something small crawled out of his throat, followed by several more as they climbed into one of the air shafts. Screams were heard minutes later.

The Tarkaa, also known as the Akrid Parasite, is a small Akrid about the varying size of someones head. Once they hatch, they are about the size of a rat, and grow fully within minutes. They poison their victims with their tails, and once dead from the neurotoxic venom, eggs would be laid inside. The Tarkaa have wiped out a total of 15 NEVEC bases on E.D.N. III due to their small size, quick speeds, and fast working brain-killing venom.
Chris (played by Chris_Pike)

The Tactical Officer nodded, Then the Com officer hailed the Hangar bay "Open Up, Shuttle inbound Friendly" Then the Com officer pushed a few buttons "Captain, Robbins shuttle is on its way"

Chris stopped his programing and sat up, He stood their for a few seconds, Then pulled out the chip and went too the wall com "On my way" He said, Then walked too the hangar and waited for Robbins too land, He felt the need to greet him too the Scimitar in person
Erren Saetine (played by Terel)

The Third Fleet dropped out of hyperspace in an unclaimed system only a couple of light-years from the war zone. After a quick scan of the system to ensure there were no other vessels in the volume, the Xin'Ta'Faxi deployed their small scout group, twenty Temera Scout Frigates were sent to varying starsystems within range to gather intelligence on present fleet compositions and dispositions in the immediate volume of the combat zone.

A live subspace link from one such scout showed the blockade that had formed around the planet designated 'Neutral Zone'. The HRA fleet was... considerable. Not a force that Erren wanted to engage lightly.

Whilst he had been ordered to ensure the stability of the imperial borders, and if possible annex territory left vulnerable by the war to allow for a buffer zone to be created between the Imperium proper and the HRA-NEVEC conflict, Erren did not want to have to engage the HRA head-on. Whilst he was confident in the abilities of his ships the HRA presently outnumbered him quite heavily. Reinforcements would be en-route already but it would be some time before the Imperial Navy could mobilise sufficient assets to match the HRA and NEVEC forces.

So he would have to content himself, at least for a short time, with sending a clear message to both NEVEC and the HRA, "Scout vessel, prepare to relay communications to the HRA command ship, and any NEVEC forces in range." Erren ordered.

"Acknowledged... comms array synchronised. You may transmit when ready, sir." Came the reply from the frigate's captain.

"This is Fleet Admiral Erren Saetine of the Sarretel Brotherhood and Imperial Navy, speaking to NEVEC and HRA forces presently engaged in the Neutral Zone on behalf of His Imperial Majesty Asrae XVI, Emperor of the Xin'Ta'Faxi Imperium, Lord of the Twin Worlds. Some of the contested territories of this region are located close to systems claimed in the Imperium's name. An Imperial Fleet has been dispatched to ensure the integrity of the Imperial borders. Any incursion into Xin'Ta'Faxi territory will be treated as an act of war. Should this come to pass then I have the full authority of His Majesty to destroy any and all vessels encroaching upon our sovereign territories, and to enact retaliatory strikes against the territorial claims of the offender, up to and including total destruction of primary and secondary industrial and population centres. Civilian targets may not be exempt. You shall receive no other warning."

With his warning issued Erren settled back to wait for acknowledgement from the HRA and NEVEC commanders. All he would have to do is keep an eye on the war and ensure it did not spill over into Imperial space... and if it did then use that as an excuse to launch an invasion of some of the contested systems. He was confidant that once his reinforcements, which included the task force named The Guardian's Sword which was composed of not only several hundred frigates and cruisers but also five additional Celora Battleships, three Geredon Dreadnoughts, two Vinidis Ultracarriers and a Type II Purgatio Luminarium Titan Dreadnought, which was designed to utterly devastate planetary surfaces with its 'Devastating Light' Siege Cannons. It was a fleet that was used to spearhead almost all major fleet actions and destroy enemy fortress-worlds.
Joel Ravage (played by Kurt)

Joel nodded, " If it means that much to you then we will find out what it means." he laughed, "You know I have nothing planned in life," he patted Robbins 'gently' on the back, "I'd follow your tiny arse to the end of the galaxy." he laughed and went back to his 'toy'. "I taking this with me. I grown attached." he grew serious, "And you know how I feel about new people, I will be sticking at your side." he postioned himself to the exit door, awaiting for the time it would open. The PA hanging at his side in a non-threat manner. Though any who knew Joel knew, he was always ready for something to happen. All Robbins would need to do was look down to notice his free hand was at his 44.
Captain Robbins (played by HRA) Topic Starter

"Coalition forces?" The Warmaster asked, suddenly confused. Why were there so many people coming to this one planet? He was getting far too old for this. Like many of the high ranks. He wore the Warmaster uniform, with the red cape, and the rank tabs. Looking out from the Super Carrier Yorktown, he sighed. Why him?

"Yes, sir. And the Imperium." The Helmsman said, and the Warmaster looked over at him. Not another person. "The Coalition wants to help evacuate people, and the Imperium is giving us a warning not to encroach on their territories."

"Fine. Tell them this: Anyone who gets within firing range of us gets 10 seconds. If in ten seconds they don't turn back, we're to blast them apart. Understood?" The Warmaster said, and looked angered. This was becoming a bloody big fight.

"Yes sir. And the battle down below?"

Now the Warmaster thought for a second. There wasn't that many people on the enemies side of the planet. So they could deal with them easily enough. At least, that's what they wanted to do. He had enough troops and ships.

"Tell the men to give a full retreat. They're to return to the fortress, and await further orders." The Warmaster said, devising a plan. A nasty plan. A very nasty plan. And he could control the ships. In invasions involving planetary bombardment, the Warmaster, Grand Warmaster, or General automatically takes over. "Tell the ships to get ready."

"Sir?"

"Reposition the two battleships so they face the planet's surface head on." The Warmaster ordered, and the Arrogance, and Mannerheim turned towards the planet's surface. The giant 8,000 meter long (around 24,000 feet long) ships turned slowly, but eventually, they moved towards the planet. "Now the Heavy Cruisers."

The Mauler, Vengeance, Liberty, Garibaldi, Frost, Round Top, Big Horn, Peasant, Ruby, and Flame all began turning towards the enemy surface on the planet, pointing their largest guns at them.

Immediately, all the other ships on the planet, and all the men, retreated to either space, or the fortress. Something was going on. Some kind of demonstration. A big demonstration. One that the galaxy would remember for a long time.

Forming a protective ring around the planetary bombardment ships, the Yorktown, Enterprise, the 30 frigates and 10 destroyers escorting her, and the 30 light cruisers, 150 destroyers, and 300 frigates moved to block the planet from anyone trying to land. They had their fighters ready for anything.

As the ground force moved back to their fortress, they looked back, almost wishing that they hadn't. It was a terrible sight, even for the people in space. And not one they could ever get out of their heads. No one ever really paid much attention to bombardments. And they should.

All the massive ships fired their Nova Cannons, huge 1,000 foot wide guns with specialized shells, into the cities. Each one ripped through the atmosphere, flying through the air in a ball of huge, superheated flame. And when it hit? The force of the shell alone was enough to cause a small explosion, like an asteroid could. Earth flew through the air, and landed miles away. Then it exploded, taking more with it. Only one shell from each capital ship was fired, though.

Even the smaller, 300 foot shells caused great damage. It turned the ground into no mans land, surrounded by dust, shrapnel, and gas from the gas shells that impacted with a thud. Fire and smoke rose into the air, obstructing view.

"Surrender now, and we will spare the rest. Or face destruction." Grand Warmaster Vladimir broadcasted from the Enterprise, smiling, holding his sword in the sheath with his right hand.

****

Arik almost panicked, not knowing what to do. The creatures had decimated anything within 200 feet of the jail cell. But he had to do something, and fast. Then he had an idea. "Shut all blast doors and air duct filters within 250 feet of the jail cell! NOW! And then within 260 feet!"

The blast doors slammed shut, and so did the air filters from the air ducts. Nothing could get in or out now. Not even those creatures. Then he ordered Nerve Gas to be pumped into the corridors that were locked down. He couldn't afford a massive infestation of the compound.

"Shut off all blast doors in and out of the compound until the scanners read zero of these things!" Arik shouted, and sighed. He was watching the video from the cameras. It was hell.

****

Duke got up from his chair, and walked to the hanger bay. While the Frigate could fit in there, it wasn't the designated escort ships, and so it wasn't allowed to. The shuttle, on the other hand, was going to stay in there.

Getting to the elevators, he went down, and stopped at the hanger bays. It was... full. Strangely. And now, they were opening, and the shuttle touched down. He looked over, and saw the captain of the Scimitar, and he nodded.

****

((No Italicized words here. :P Gamers, feel free to pop in whenever! :P))

Robbins chuckled, and walked to the door of the shuttle as it touched down. This guy was alright. A good friend. Just very, very violent. He reminded him of Dodger, but he was less of a trigger finger than Dodger was.

"Thanks, Joel. I'll be sure to apologize to the families of those men we meet." Robbins joked, and then stepped out of the shuttle, red cape flapping in the fake wind that was blowing through the ship at the time.
Laroche Peyton (played by Jabonicus)

The city was decimated, and no reply was given from NEVEC. No soldiers were seen, and Akrid littered the ground. Not a sound was heard from NEVEC.
"Nucluer core reactor malfunctioning, radiation levels dangerously high." A computer voice rang through the city. The only way of truly knowing that NEVEC had given up on something is when the power stopped working. Then the rumbling started. It started under the city, but quickly started moving towards the HRA base. The rumbling stopped as it was under the HRA base of operations.

The screams of the parasitic creatures filled Laroches ears. His skin hurt, and he couldn't breath. He had to let these things loose. He had to. There had to be a manual override to the shutdown. There just had to. He limped by the dying creatures, heading towards a control panel in a desperate attempt to open the doors.

The under keep, an Akrid few have seen, and even fewer have lived to tell about it. The under keep, over time, constructs a fortress underground to house it. Much like the Threshers of Pandora, it burrows underground and has a wide attacking range. It has an uncanny ability to tell where something is weak, and will repeatedly attack that spot.

"Do you have the code to unleash Akrid X?"
"Yeah, let me just activate it."
"Will it get here in time?"
"It was reported to be seen in Pandora minutes before it was in the docks on E.D.N. III. It will be here."
Chris (played by Chris_Pike)

Chris then waited for Robbins too step out, he had the chip in his hand, it was bright red and see-through, so it was easy to tell it was there, When Robbins did step out of the shuttle, Everyone in the hangar stopped what they were doing and saluted him, Even Chris did, Chris had heard alot of this mans heroism and his success rate was some of the highest, Chris then walked over too robbins "On behalf of my entire crew, I welcome you too the Scimitar Captain Robbins"
Joel Ravage (played by Kurt)

Joel wasn't far behind his friend. His helmet still on as he glared down the other men. He gave a breif huff relaxed himself ever so slightly, "Ranked higher or not," he sat down the PA and crossed his arms now, using the ship as a prop, "I refuse to salute anyone else. And do as you wish, demote whatever. Long as I can break something eventually, I don't care for titles." he nodded his head to them with an informal greeting then went quite. He took note that there were quite a few individuals, he hated groups but just ignored it for now. Long as they didn't harass him, he wouldn't cause to many problems. He took note of the other man as well, the one in all black. He recognized the uniform and symbols and just gave a half laugh and returned to his silent propping.
Erren Saetine (played by Terel)

The Xin'Ta'Faxi scout frigate kept well away from the planet, but it still recorded the carnage which the HRA had wrought, transmitting images and data back to the Fleet. Once uploaded to the computer core of the capital ships, the data would be analysed to determine HRA and NEVEC tactics as well as possible permutations of these strategies and other useful information.

The images where displayed prominently on the bridge's holographic displays. The HRA's rather blunt and undiplomatic reply had been expected, but the sudden devastation of multiple cities on the planet's surface came as a slight surprise, though only that the HRA had resorted to such a display this early in the conflict, rather than that the display had happened at all.

"Brutal but effective." Erren noted, "Much like the HRA themselves. Typical humans. They're a blunt instrument, no grace or subtlety about them." He shook his head slowly, "It seems like they prefer ballistic and missile weaponry to me, at least when it comes to planetary assault. Any word from NEVEC?"

"No communications, sir, it is possible that their commanders are dead. They may very well have lost the Neutral Zone to the HRA." The comms officer reported.

"Some of their Akrid weapons are still fighting. Do we have any data on them?" He asked.

"Akrid, native to planet designated E.D.N III, Human-claimed under NEVEC Corporation. Akrid species are the dominant life-form on E.D.N III and their blood appears to contain a substance that greatly increases their body temperatures to aid survival in their cold native environments. It is harvested as crude power source by NEVEC." His science officer reported, "It is possible that NEVEC is utilising cybernetic or genetic augmentation to turn these creatures into weapons."

Erren nodded, "Nothing the Fleet can't handle. It would appear, then, that NEVEC is only a minor threat. Capturing or destroying E.D.N III would neutralise them. Get a simulation running of likely scenarios if we ever have to take steps against NEVEC, particularly their reactions to an attack on E.D.N III."

"Sir, the scout reports that they have detected Coalition forces in the region." The communications officer reported.

"The Coalition? What are they doing out here?" Erren asked.

"Unknown, though there are Coalition civilians in the Neutral Zone. They could be attempting to extract them from the war zone."

"The HRA aren't going to let anyone past their blockade. Keep an eye on the Coalition vessels, they shouldn't pose any threat but be vigilant, just in case."
Laroche Peyton (played by Jabonicus)

NEVEC communications burst to life, a clear signal established. The Xin'Ta'Faci Scout frigates screens flashed the NEVEC insignia every few seconds. "Any attempts on NEVEC owned areas will be considered an act of war. This will be met with the use of Akrid X and the destruction of you vessels. I repeat, Any attempts on NEVEC owned areas will be considered an act of war. This will be met with the use of Akrid X and the destruction of your vessels." There was a supersonic boom somewhere nearby, with no seen source. NEVEC had found out something quite a while ago before they were able to control Akrid X. It was different, a primal version of the Akrid they had been using before. Akrid weren't from E.D.N. III, but they sure as hell still lived there. NEVEC had stopped using as much soldiers as soon as they had such powerful biological weapons. NEVEC still had several tactics up its sleeve, and more than a few surprises.
Augustus Terminus (played by HvyArtillery)

"HRA has refused to let us proceed with the mission and have sent a little threat as well." The communications officer reported in a monotone voice.

Terminus let out a frustrated sigh. To be honest, he hadn't really expected to cooperate.

"We should attack them!" Balur snarled. "Neither side has any honor!"

"Calm down, Lieutenant Commander, we can't do anything that would risk drawing the UCP into the conflict."

The tactical officer grunted in acknowledgement, accepting his captain's orders. "What are we to do then?"

Terminus thought for several seconds before replying. "Hail the Commanding officer of the HRA fleet. I have an idea that I think would reasonable to the HRA."

"Yes sir." The comm officer carrying out the order while Captain Terminus reclined in his chair, waiting for the HRA to respond.

Lets watch and scheme!" XD and me just sitting there going: "Oh... That's... inconvenient..."))
((Once again, no offense there. I just could see it clearly. XD))

"This is the Aircraft Carrier AC-1 Enterprise, who is this?" Grand Master Warlord Vladimir asked,
staring up from the battle screen. The shelling stopped, but apparently, seismic activity from under the nearest Fortress was recorded. Seemed to be... man made, so to say. He didn't know what it was, but didn't want to stick around to find out.

Down below, the men got back to the base, and began talking. Then they felt the ground shake. They felt it shake before, on different worlds, fighting the Tyranids. But these were Imperial Guardsmen. If there was an Akrid version of a Carnifex... well... they wouldn't survive long without reinforcements.

"What was that?" The Captain asked, and then they felt it again. No. Could it be? Better safe than sorry. He panicked, grabbed his weapon, and shouted out: "CARNIFEX!"

The whole place was a buzz, and they began running to the defenses, securing them and arming them. Huge 50mm autocannon turrets composed of four barrels turned towards the grounds, scanning them with thermal energy readings. So far, nothing.

The control panel Laroche had walked up to was disabled, and already useless. It was a jail cell, after all. And a major lockdown had taken place. Nothing, and it meant nothing, could get in or out. Arik watched him move, and smiled. He was dead. Or he would be, soon.

"Thank you, Captain. I'll take over in general, if you don't mind. You still have almost full command of your ship." Robbins said, and looked over at Joel, chuckling. He knew that he had no respect for anyone, really. And never did salute. Robbins had always used the excuse of a lame arm, though everyone knew it wasn't. "Oh, cheer up Joel. Hello, Duke. Not saluting either?"

****

"Nope. SS doesn't salute to anyone outside of SS. Thought you knew that." Duke said, looking at Joel. He nodded his head in a basic greeting, and he chuckled. So, they had a trigger finger guy there. Yay. Just what they needed. "Captain Chris, this is Captain Joel and Ship Captain Robbins from Spetznaz."
