I had a whole crew of them:
Charlie,
Genius,
and Charlie Genius Bob.

And then there was Crysta, the faerie from Fern Gully. I was obsessed with her and she was my best friend. And they all drove around in a white limousine.

They drove the limousine. They didn’t ride in it, they drove it. I guess the point of a limousine was kind of lost on me as a kid xD

I never had an imaginary best friend, but I was a big time daydreamer who played pretend a lot. Usually involving faeries. (I know, you'd never have guessed it looking at my sona...)
Omg this topic I’m dead fkdjkdkd

I used to imagine I had a red fairy following me around like Navi from Zelda. 8);; I looked out the window and pretended they flew side by side with my parent’s car.

We need a limousine for our ocs b!

Yep! His name was "Papaw Bones" and he was a skeleton who liked to hang out in the hallway, peek in on me at night to keep me safe, and occasionally give me high fives? I don't know why I named him Papaw, must have thought he was a pretty old skeleton!
I didn't only had imaginary friends back then, but I also have imaginary "~friends~" uwu nowadays.
Great topic.

I did. I used to pretend I was a mechanic at a bike shop. My bike shop was the laundrymatt. I would take the chain off my bike and put it back on again so I could feel like I was actually fixing bikes. I had imaginary coworkers. I'd be like, "Joe, hand me that wrench!" and things like that.

It's funny because as an adult I'm not mechanically inclined at all!

I also pretended to be a karate...person...I don't know. And I pretended to be part of a seperate new branch of the armed forces that I named the Water Corps. Like the Marine Corps, but they do things in the rain. It made sense in my head! Lol

That wasn't completely related, but yeah...imaginary coworkers. Yep.
I had one when I was around 7 - 13 because of some things in my life I’m not going to share about on here. But anyways that one I never was able to name but it was always there and has been keeping an eye on me, watching me and when I would always do something I shouldn’t have done and I was about to get caught for it, it would point at me and tell me to hide in my closet and I never questioned it or ever was hesitant to do so but I would sit in there with it hugging me trying to keep me calm.

I never truly figured out what it was either because it always wore a mask, had long hair, pointy ears like an elf, and smoke constantly rising underneath the mask. It had scaly lizard like hands too. But I finely have a name for her...

Uhmmm...me and my friend had a squad of...white Persian cats...mine was named Bob, her’s was Fred. There was also Steve, Frank, Rob, and...more.
Whenever I went in the car, I used to imagine a wolf running alongside it, jumping on stuff etc.

Apparently this is super common? Having something imaginary running alongside the car, I mean.

I did that when I was little. I had imaginary friends, but I can't remember their names or if they had actual names. I never used them to get me out of trouble though. I was too embarrassed to admit they existed to anyone.
However, I also did the car thing. I always imagined some crazy motorcycle stunt driver driving along the highway beside the car going along the tops of fences, powerlines, and being able to jump over anything. I also imagined him to be like this super handsome bad boy. xD
I wanted one, but could never understand the concept. Possibly in part because I'm on the verge of aphantasia? I don't actually have it, but I'm pretty close.
There was a painting in the hallway where I lived when I was 10, a Victorian girl in a floofy white and pink dress, holding a letter wrapped in a pink ribbon.

I started having dreams where she was either there or I was her. Then eventually that progressed into her being my imaginary friend. Personally I think she was a spirit, but can't confirm obviously.

My cousin who stayed the summer could see her too though and had the same dreams. We played with her quite a lot.
I had Malus, he was like my guardian. He was actually a gargoyle who looked more like some sort of wolf/dragon than a typical gargoyle. I remember he was my way of explaining bizarre things like unexpected reflexes and waves of adrenalin. One time I was on a swing set, trying to go as high as possible, when one of the chains broke and I went flying off the seat. Before I landed, everything seemed to slow down like it does in the movies. I felt like I had been caught by something and then when I landed, it didn't hurt. I thought I must have been saved by something. That's when I came up with my guardian.

He didn't have a name for a long time but he didn't really need one because I never talked about him. I finally came up with the name Malus after playing Shadow of the Colossus and learning that the last colossi was named Malus. Since the colossi looked like gargoyles to me and the last one had such a mysterious personality, that's the one I chose. I eventually turned Malus into a character.

Maybe I'll make him a character again :P
kroweling

yes.

as a small kid i climbed very, very tall trees. while i was not actively frightened or nervous, i was always very aware i could fall (and die, though i had no concept of this yet, really).

so, to keep myself safe, i imagined a spindly, long-necked fellow, not unlike a short giraffe with an obscenely long neck. i'm thinking now of alolan exeggcutor as reference. i think he was aubergine? some purply color.

i would sit in the tops of trees (tiny head poking through the canopy) and pretend that he would catch me if i fell.

he was a good bud! i wonder what he is doing now.

I totally had to look up what "aphantasia" means and just read all about it, and it is SO interesting. Never heard of it before. This guy's experience with it is so interesting:

I've always been a skeptic, even as a child. I believe it is mostly due to the way I was raised. Santa, the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny, all of those were taught as icons, not fact.

Short answer, no. But I did daydream often.

As a kid, I had my other selves to talk to. I called them Left hand and Right hand. We debated a lot about things.

As for imaginary friends, I had a few in my lifetime. The most recent I said goodbye to a couple days ago.
Yup, I was really into digimon and I had this dog like creature named Puppymon. We'd have adventures in my room...where we'd go to a place where the pokemon and digital world intersect.

Though, now before I sleep i'll make up stories with the characters I made up to make sure I don't have bad dreams or come up with some plot on here.
LakotaSiouxWarrior

No but I've had people imagine to be freinds of mine I've known in my life.
