It's looked to me like EW stuff as a whole has been getting quieter and more scattered over the years. Not sure if it's a shift in culture, and aging-out type issue, or what. And it's definitely harder to get younger folks to even consider joining RPR; forums like this seem to be too different from what they're used to, I guess.
It for sure makes me sad.
The last handful of folks I convinced to join, it kinda took months to convince some of them to join, and then a few more to get them to actually use their accounts at all. A few of them appreciate it now, but still tend to only pop on when specifically prompted to.
I think the low forum activity is the biggest thing, at least to me. Not a lot of chatter, and coordination, at least from what I've seen/done, ends up being a lot of pinging people in other places to bring them online to join the party. It's worked well, I was able to get a few people to join in and have fun and poke people to give seeds and borbs and stuff, but I pinged them on Discord to make it happen.
And are still very reluctant to talk anywhere they're exposed to people they don't already know.
I don't think there's anything I can do about that.
The lack of discussion is why I felt bad for solving the first couple I did so fast 😂 it was just something I knew immediately for the first one and something that happened to be what I was reading about right when I saw it for the second.
Yeh. You've done a lot of things already that fit into the things they seem to want. Groups, ability to turn topics into a chat, etc.
I've tried to atone by battling like a big idiot since then
Pfft. Andy, you're fine!
Nooooo complaints about getting things kick-started on puzzles. ^v^
I know that deep down
It was also two related things, so one going down right after the other makes sense, in a way.
Yeah, especially since things tend to slow down a lot after the initial rush. Good to have a good start on things to keep building from.
I'd feel bad if I held onto Humanity too and others weren't getting it, like I sat there being all "I know something you don't bwaha" so in my silly brain it's a loss either way, may as well progress the game haha
I think overall the way Epic Week is set up is great, but everything will be rough on some personalities, yunno?
Snrk, well maybe you should never submit a riddle.
Then you have to just sit there knowing the answer and not being able to say anything!
I'm glad mine was answered so quickly, actually, so I didn't have to really deal with that.
I think there’s been a fair bit of siloing and social anxiety in general popping up, nut also just… life, augh. I’m quieter this year than normal, too, but that’s entirely because I’m juggling a lot of balls in the air at the moment and am doing my darnedest to not drop any.
At least to me there's a difference between knowing you could solve the problem and not doing it and not being able to solve the problem but being able to watch people work it out and be proud of them when they get it. I REALLY liked the one year I submitted riddles. ^v^
