Coming to the pond, Arien didn't hesitate as he gasped a huge lungful of air and dove headfirst into the water. It was probably just as well since he might otherwise have been struck by the lightning bolt that just barely missed him.
He peered into the water, hoping he wasn't too late. Finally he made out a familiar shape--Red. He gasped a fresh lungful of air before diving down to her to see why she was stuck. Was that a chain around her ankle?
He tapped her on the shoulder and then pointed up at the surface, then to his mouth then to hers. Without hardly a pause, he pressed his lips against hers, trying to pass her oxygen while he figured out the chain.

Red's eyes flashed with concern then it melted away when he put his lips to hers. She knew he was just trying to pass her oxegyn but it was close enough to a kiss.
Taking the oxegyn he gave her, she was reluctant to let him pull away but she knew he needed air and let him. With her oxegyn restored she struggled more with the chain by swimming down and trying to dig it out but that didnt work either.

Arien surfaced for air and then dove back down. He followed the chain all the way to where it was buried with no luck. Damn.
He looked over at Red, not knowing what else to do, before a thought occurred to him. He swam over to her and grabbed her in his arms. As his oxygen ran out he tried to concentrate on the main room in Red's house. Preferably next to the fire and not on top of it. He closed his eyes and willed them to teleport before he passed out.

Red had no idea what was happening but she held onto Arien. She ran out of air seconds before Arien but managed not to pass out. Though she sucked in alot of water, her brain taking over even though it wasnt common sense to breathe in water.
When they appeared by the fire, Red quickly let go of Arien and turned away. She coughed up alot of water then felt exhausted afterwards.

Arien gasped for air as he rolled onto his side and then onto his stomach, floundering for a moment on the floor before realizing it was solid ground beneath him.
"Oh, thank god, land!" He twisted, remembering what he'd been doing earlier, and got to his knees. "Red! Are you alive?"

"Alive? Yes. Feeling good? Not at all." she croaked, from beside the fireplace.
Red layed down on here back and coughed again. Breathing heavily, she closed here eyes exhausted now.

"Thank the gods," Arien sighed in relief. "I thought I had lost you..." He rubbed a hand over his eyes, determined that the few tears of despair were nothing but drops of water from his hair.
He got up and dragged a dry blanket out of his pack and tossed it over Red, covering her from neck to feet. "Stay warm," he said as he built up the fire again and glanced nervously up at the ceiling. There was no telling what Ash might pull next.

Red looked at him and smiled a little.
"Arien come here please," she whispered.
"Arien come here please," she whispered.
He was at her side instantly, but not through teleportation. "What?" Concern was etched into his face. "What is it?"
He almost reached to stroke her wet hair, but hesitated. Unsure if he might make things worse. He'd come so close to losing her...

Red smiled. "Dont be so worried im fine. Just tired," she whispered then motioned for him to lean down closer.
Neo and Nex truged into the house shaking water everywhere. Then they trotted into Red's room leaving the two alone.

"It's just...if I had been another second slower..." He leaned closer at her gesture, his concern fading a bit to confusion. He didn't notice the tigers leaving the room; Red had all of his attention.
Red pulled him closer and kissed him.
"Are you ok Arien?" she whispered.
Concern was now in her eyes when she remembered he almost died saving her. Ashamed that Red couldnt even get herself out of trouble, she looled at the fire a second before looking at Arien again.

Arien melted into her kiss for as long as it lasted. "How can I be okay when I almost lost you?" His next kiss was more passionate. "I don't know what I'd do without you," he admitted, stroking her wet hair.
Red kissed back and warmed up just with his kiss alone. She looked at him shocked when he admitted that.
"What?" she asked still shocked.
"What?" she asked still shocked.
He looked down at her and sighed. He couldn't help it. "I thought..." he looked away and then looked back at her. "I didn't realize...how attached...I am to you. I never meant to impose on you, but after what just happened," he hugged her close, "I can't leave you."
Another cough racked through Red's body. But she hugged back, she didnt want to let go either.
"I wouldnt want to loose you either.." she whispered.
Red was very happy even though they couldve died several minutes ago, she couldnt be happier.

Arien patted her back firmly. "You're coughing. You have any specialty potion for that? Or is it just water?"
He'd been fortunate at least not having swallowed any water. But he stayed close, unsure when or if Ash meant to strike again. But that was probably part of her plan and he planned to let it work against her.

"Nope. Just the water. That water is pretty damn cold," Red muttered.
She got up and crawled closer to the fire, her body slightly shivering because of the cold.

"You should change into something dry if you have it," Arien said, noting her shiver. He was cold too, but he had a spare of clothes in his pack. Somewhere. "Dry and warm is best," he added. "Then we can cuddle--I mean huddle by the fire."
Sighing she stood up and went into her room. She slowly peeled off her cold wet clothes an changed into dry ones. Walking back over to the fire, she looked at Arien.
"I wouldnt mind cuddling you know?" she murmured to him.
