He turned to look at her, concern etched deep in his eyes. "Why bring this up now?"

Bella whined slightly, wanting to be pet.

Red hesitated before moving her cloak away from her arm. The black vein-like lines had hardly moved from the wrist but they were traveling upwards. She looked at Arien and bit her lip nervously, on how he would react.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment, composing himself. Ash, he told himself, blame Ash.

He opened his eyes again and reached for Red's hand, the one with the black veins. "Wh-when did it start?" he asked softly, remembering that she hadn't had it during their sparring session.

"When i pricked my finger on the rose.." Red murmured.
Dread was seeping into her as she thought of what the pison did. There was only one way to stop it now. She had to kill Ash, there was no way around it if she was going to live. The only thing that had stopped her till now, was the fact that she and people she cared for had never been in danger. Now that Arien's life and her life was on the line, she would stop at nothing to kill her.

Arien gently traced the black lines with his fingers, though his hands trembled slightly. What did Ash have against Red that they would be forced to kill each other?

"I don't suppose you might know where she is?" He looked at Red. "Perhaps a secluded place where she went to be alone? Or perhaps a bustling metropolis?" The horror that would happen if such a fire broke out there.

Red leaned into Arien, she needed him there. She held his hands, seeing them trembling.
"Im sorry..i dont," Red said softly. "But Ash definitly would stay close. She needs a close range for the Withering Willow to work."
Arien was probably only person that was keeping her sane. If he wasnt here, Red would probably run out into battle with Ash and loose quickly.

Red softly petted Bella because she heard her wine.

Arien put his arm around her. He wasn't sure he'd be this calm if he'd found out that he had black veins trying to kill him.

"Maybe we can track her somehow. Do you have anything that belonged to her and still has her scent? Bella can track things, if the trail is still warm." But he wasn't sure there was a trail, or even if Red would have kept anything like a glove or scarf around. And the box and rose had been tossed into the fire.

Bella wagged her tail and leaned into Red's petting.

Red wasnt feeling too good anymore but she didnt show it.
"I have nothing of hers. She never left a trace whenever she went somewhere. But i could probably find her if we can just get her to at..." Red's voice kept getting softer till she couldnt even be heard anymore.
Black spots were appearing in front of Red and she realized that the poison was already in the first stage. Lightheaded and her vision blurring, Red started to black out. But she fought it as much as she could.
Suddenly, all of Red's wieght leaned into Arien and she was completely out of it. Not even an explosion could wake her up.

Arien had mistaken the leaning initially as her being comfortable or taking comfort in his presence. But when her voice began to fade, he realized something was up. "Red? Red!" he yelled at her, shaking her gently. No good, she wasn't responding.

He looked closer at her arm. The black lines were streaking past her elbow. "How fast does this curse spread?" He leaped for the nearest length of cloth he could find and tied it tightly around Red's upper arm were the veins didn't reach yet. Hopefully the improvised tourniquet would hold some of it at bay.

"Red? Can you hear me?" He shook her gently, and then felt her forehead. "Come on, wake up. There's gotta be an antidote somewhere. If Nathan were here, he'd heal it in the blink of an eye."

Bella got up from where she lay and whined. Then began to wash Red's arm with her tongue; starting first with the injured finger and then up to the black streaks. If Aurean wolf saliva could numb pain, surely it might have some effect on the poison...

The black veins receeded back down to Red's wrist but they didnt go away. Bella's saliva was the only thing that kept them from moving quickly past the cloth Arien had tied.

Red's head was pounding and every little sound screamed at her. Regaining conciousness was hard on Red. She knew she had a fever and that whatever Arien had did would give her a little more time to get to the antidote. But she didnt have long.
Ash must've been working on the poison.. It traveled faster than before.. Red thought before blinking her eyes open slowly.
Weariness dragged at her and begged her to fall back into the vast darkness. Red struggled to shake it off but did so with great effort. Never before had Red ever experienced anything like this.
"Arien.." she whispered, suddenly needing him with her.

"I'm right here," he said, obviously relieved that she'd woken up. He sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I've put on a pressure bandage to slow down the veins, and I think Bella's trying to help too. Is there an antidote? Can you make one? Or guide me to make one for you?"

If he spoke too fast it was only because he was worried and didn't know how long she'd be lucid for. Or when the poison would travel up her arm again. Bella paused to nuzzle Red's hand.

Red relaxed when Arien ran his fingers through her hair. Smiling as she heard his voice. Sitting up slowly. Red thought it was a little funny when he shot off questions like that but she thought she should calm him down.
"Shh shhh.."she tryed to soothe him, running her thumb softly against his cheek. "Im fine for now..." she whispered.
It took alot of her energy to sit up and she felt weariness drag at her, but Arien needed to know she was fine for the time being.
The look in her eyes told Arien more about how she cared for him then words could ever describe. She couldnt deny Arien now. She needed him with her, for she was far too deep to pull away now.

Arien could count on one hand the number of times he'd cried. This wasn't one of those times, but it was getting close.

Troubled and pained, he didn't know how to respond to Red. He didn't know what more he could offer, except potentially a distraction from whatever Red must be feeling. Did it hurt? He leaned into her hand.

"What can I do?" he asked softly. But the look in Red's eyes answered that question for him. He leaned in and kissed her warmly on the mouth. If she needed a distraction, he'd be more than happy to provide it. Distraction was, after all, what he was best at.

Red closed her eyes and leaned into the kiss. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach for some reason. She smiled and kissed back. All her worries and pains melted away, all she felt now was happiness.
Arien was the only person she knew that could do this to her. Everything melted away when she was with him. Nothing mattered to her more than him. When he was near she felt her legs go weak and her heart soar.
"All you need to do is be here and everything is perfect," Red whispered before she could stop herself.
Red blushed after she said that and bit her lip.

Arien smiled at Red. She blushed so easily, but it was endearing. He felt his pulse speed up as she bit her lip and he gently cupped his hand beneath her chin to lift her face up towards him; Red's face was mesmerizing and he studied it intently for a moment, as though engraving it into his memory.

"I love you, Red; don't ever forget that."

If possible, Red blushed more and looked completely surprised.
"Arien... I... I love you too," Red whispered and grinned. Suddenly she kissed Arien intensly.
Red thought she was going to burst with joy. All her emotions were put into that one kiss. All the love, care, and happiness.
Red had never been more happy in her whole life.

Surprised by her intensity, Arien's eyes widened, and then he was wrapping his arms around her, holding her close, protectively, returning her kiss with a passionate one of his own.

If only he could protect her; if only he could make all this end. But this moment could last forever. He rather hoped it would, for he was happy and content, and he loved Red.

Red wrapped her arms around his neck and kept kissing for a little while longer before ending the kiss but lingering close enough for their lips to lightly brush.
She smiled and a spark of excitement appeared in her eyes.

Ash almost puked at the sight of the lovey dovey stuff going on between them. Smirking, she thought to herself on how to ruin it.
"Ah. I could just settle for kidnapping Red. Then nothing would stand in my way. But that seems a little old fashioned. Hmm... Oh i know," Ash spoke to herself.
I can flood the house..
Ash leapt off the tree branch she was sitting on and walked over to the houses front door. Bending down she whispered ancient words and watered started to seep into the house, but not loud or fast. Neo and Nex didnt notice a thing was going on. Patch was curled in between them, sleeping.

Arien smiled back; Red's excitement was contagious. "You look like you're contemplating something. Want to share?"

A tornado could have leveled the house, and Arien would not have noticed--until the roof caved in. So any amount of water rising would be going unnoticed.

Bella sighed and watched Patch; she wasn't asleep, but she was relaxed and didn't sense any immediate danger...yet.

Red kissed Arien gently before smiling again.
"Oh i was just thinking that i cant wait to go traveling with you is all," she murmured.
That was half of what Red was thinking. The other half was her brain screaming "HE LOVES ME!!!!" over and over again. No amount of noise or danger could make Red let go of Arien right now. But weariness started to catch up to her again and Red blinked sleepily.

Ash smirked then let the water rise by itself as she put a charm on the doors and windows, preventing them from opening.
"Oh yes. This is going to be exciting to watch," she said excitedly.
The water rose quicker and soon it had reached Red's room, but Red didnt hear or see anything. She was fully concentrated on Arien.
