I think I managed to avoid having my walruses disband at all least year, I just made a wrong turn this year and unwittingly sent them unto overly dangerous territory.

They travel different speed over different terrain, too. They're fastest in the water.
I'm currently in tundra territory
Once my company returns, I plan to try to beef them up to work on clearing a path over to the ice quarry.
And I know I should work on getting info available so far into the Armory and maybe into the wiki, but... brain is refusing to do such tasks so far today.
