"Worse?" Arien croaked, his eyes wide in horror. He didn't exactly have time to brace himself either as searing pain shot through his leg.

And then he was distracted by lips against his, and Red's closeness. For a terrifying moment he had reached his limit; the input was more than he could stand and he fixed on the only thing he could control.

He leaned forward, deepening the kiss and wrapping his arms around Red, pulling her closer. It didn't completely block out the pain, but it helped considerably.

Red blushed as the kiss deepened and he pulled her closer. She had used the blue liquid before and knew that the pain wouldnt last long but it felt like forever. Kissing back deeper, she counted the seconds in her head and when she knew the pain stopped she relaxed a bit.
Red had almost felt the pain Arien felt. The cold liquid would heal his ankle alot faster and would take away the pain to where he would barely feel it.

The pain stopped, but Arien didn't loosen his hold on her. Particularly when she relaxed. He was breathing hard and sweat dotted his forehead from the pain; but slowly he caught his breath.

"What'd you do to me?" he asked softly, his voice a mere whisper due to their closeness.

Red smiled a little, her eyes clearly showed she was sorry for the pain. Then she took out a small rag she kept around and gently wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Sorry.. But i knew it would help you to heal faster and i wanted to help," she whispered, still blushing from being so close to him.

Arien smiled and let her dab his forehead with the cloth. He relaxed his hold on her, but still kept his arms around her. He had seen the pain in her eyes while she had treated his injury. "If it works as well as you say it does, I'd do it again."

Not that he was complaining at the moment. In fact he was feeling pretty good. Pretty damn good. His ankle no longer hurt and he was holding a woman in his arms. He released her at last and sat up to look at his ankle. The swelling at least looked like it had gone down.

"Not bad," he murmured.

When Arien pulled away, Red figured out just how much she liked to have him around. She had actually liked him holding her. When usually if a guy just barely touche her she would throw them across the room and pretty much collapse their lungs by punching force alone.
"Well i bet your not cold now," Red joked.

Blissfully unaware of the fact he was courting death, Arien laughed at Red's joke though it had some truth behind it. Satisfied that his ankle was better and still attached, he reclined back to give her a kiss.

"Not anymore. Are you?"

Red smiled. "Not really. I take it your ankle feels better then?" she asked.
Red leaned against the wall, relaxing. Maybe i wont have to worry about Ash for a while and i can actually take care of a few things.. she thought to herself.

A slightly disappointed look crossed Arien's features when Red pulled away, but it vanished quickly. "Yep, ankle feels good as new."

He stretched a little, testing his ankle gingerly. "Where did you even find that stuff?"

Red had seen the dissapointment flit across his face then disappear. Damn. He probably wanted a kiss.. Well maybe i can still get one.. she thought. Sitting back up, she acted like she was just trying to inspect her shirt. Which wasnt entirely not true, when Ash jerked her behind the bush it had ripped a small hole into it.
"I made it actually," she mumbled.
Scowling when she found the hole, Red let go of her shirt and looked at Arien. She smiled.
"Im actually pretty good at making medicines and potions," she informed him.

"You made that? On purpose?" He shivered slightly, not in fear or pain, but trying to imagine Red using it on herself the first time. "It does work amazingly well," he conceded after a pause.

Arien didn't really intend to look where Red was looking, but she was looking at her shirt and there was a hole there and, well, yeah. "Maybe we can trade skills," he offered, blushing and feeling flustered when she smiled at him. "I'm pretty good at mending clothes."

"Yes i made it on purpose. I mean it hurts like hell but it does heal injuries a whole lot faster and it takes the pain away." she spoke softly.
Red laughed a little when he looked a little flustered.
"Sure. I wouldnt mind trading skills," she said still laughing a little.

"Funny how pain and healing are inversely proportionate," he muttered under his breath. But he sat up a little straighter and asked a more pertinent question. "So what other kinds of potions do you make? Do they all sting?"

"No some of them feel better than others," Red replied.
Then she wasnt gonna wait any longer, Red kissed Arien suddenly.

Arien grinned as the immediate surprise of being kissed dissipated. "I'll take the pain any day if it comes with this," he said, half joking half serious, before embracing Red and returning the kiss.

With her in his arms, he relaxed completely. His muscles lost their constant tension and even his thoughts were shifting to what he could do to help Red by either making life easier for her or protecting her. He smiled softly--a rare chance for the softer side not ruined by pranks or self-deprecating humor to emerge.

Red blushed a little as he relaxed and embraced her. She kept kissing and put her arms around his neck. Red's thoughts switched to what it would be like to have Arien around all the time. For her to stay around him.
Red wanted him to stay. Red kissed a little deeper then a cold breeze swept through the house and she shivered.
"I think i forgot to close the door," she whispered from being so close to him.

Loathe as he was to move, Arien chuckled. "Is that right? I'll go close it for you." He unfastened his cloak--the one she'd given him that he had yet to take off--and wrapped it warmly around her. He smiled down at her. "Stay warm."

Then he got up to check on the front door. He didn't realize the lack of pain in his ankle until he was shutting the door, securing it to make sure the wind was out.

Red blushed a little because Arien was being so nice, she held the cloak around her and waited for his return. She started to feel sleepy and the days actions caught up to her. The cloak was warm and her bed was soft so she layed down and sighed.
She was happy for the first time in a long time. Red stared up at the ceiling, waiting fro Arien to return.

Arien was a bit late in getting back, deciding to check the windows as well. No sense having to get up twice. He started to return to her bedroom before pausing at the doorway. He really should be the gentleman and take the floor... And if he had the fire at his back, he'd be perfectly fine, even without his cloak.

"Good night, Red," he called softly.

Red looked over at the doorway and propped herself up.
"You forgot your cloak Arien. Otherwise you will be cold and your a guest. You should take the bed too," she said, remembering the manners her parents taught her.
Getting off the bed, she decided to sleep ourside with Neo and Mex so that Arien wouldnt feel uncomfortable.
"I'll just sleep outside with Neo and Nex," she said as she started to walk past Arien, handing him his cloak.
