Popping in- and then back out again, prolly -to second this as another Illinois-ian. Not only do we sometimes get snow in April, but it may also be (and was this year!) almost 70 degrees in December.
One time here in Iowa, we had a tornado in December. That is SUPER uncommon and that December was a hot one lol
