"Oh look at this boys. The big spooky skeleton thinks he can tell us what to do. Maybe we should put him back in the ground." He grins a wide toothy grin. Some of the sharp fangs broken probably from combat and scuffles.
Ingar snarled. "Try it." He snarled, drawing his sword.

"Tough guy huh? Wonder how you ended up dead then. If you're such a good fighter." The Orc lets out a bellowing laugh. The others join the laughter.
The blade began to glow orange as it was heated up. Ingar shot forward, thrusting his sword through the Orc's chest. "Clearly I'm a better fighter than you are." He hissed, before pushing the orc off the blade to the ground.

The Orc was run through and went silent as he was pushed to the ground. The others Orcs quickly got swept up in the moment. The two with cleavers lunged forward while the unarmed one charged. They were all caught in a frank blood lust.
Ingar swung his arm, slamming it into the throat of one of the Orcs with the cleavers, throwing him back into the snow. He spun around, slashing his sword through the air, cutting the unarmed Orc in the chest, before bringing the blade down into the second Cleaver Orc's legs.

Leg pierced and the snow being covered in the warm red blood the Orc cried out. Swinging the cleaver down it slammed into the armor but to virtually no effect. The Orc cried out as his fellow surviving Orc came about to hit Ingar in the back.
Ingar fell forward into the nsow when he was struck from behind. He rolledo uto f the way of a stomp from the orc, before rising to his feet, slashing his sword into the Orc's side.

The Orc roared out pulling back and stumbling before falling down. The wound open and spilling onto the snow. The Orc with his leg pierced crawled back hoping to pull away before the undead adversary figured it out. Clearly their weapons weren't doing that much and fighting wounded wouldn't help.
Ingar turned to face the Orc he'd slashed in the legs. He grabbed the Orc's cleaver, with the blade beginning to glow. It quickly began to melt, molten metal dripping int othe snow. He swung the cleaver, throwing the semi-liquified blade at the Orc. It splattered onto him and quickly began to burn. Ingar sheathed his blade and left, leaving the last Orc to either be horribly scarred for the rest of his life, or to die.

The Orc cried as the melted burnt away at him. Writhing around as steam arose from the cold snow on the ground. Snow was falling again and by morning likely would have buried the dying Orc.
Ingar left the village.

Days passed since the Paladins left Arkden. "We'll be reaching the border any minute now." One of the soldiers spoke up. There was a clearly uneasy air about the surroundings. There hadn't been any farms, homes, or villages for miles. Most had been destroyedi n the war and were never rebuilt. "I don't liek this." Spoke another shoulder. "Been way too quiet, for way too long." He said, looking around.

Alrick rose his arm in a manner of silencing them.
"We're close to the boarder. Within a mile. The dead silence here has never left. The vast emptiness has been here since the war. You rarely think of the scars left on the landscape after battle. This being one of them. I suppose it's seen as bad luck." In the distance about a hundred meters to the left was an old farm house. Long since abandoned and looking burnt. A barn was next to it. Or what stood for one. It was mostly torched and little more than a frame. Wilhelm looked about. Something was certainly off. The silence was unnerving.
Jackie was silent as they traveled closer and closer to the border. She looked towards the burnt up Farm house and the remains of its barn. "Think the people that lived there got out before the barn and house were destroyed?" Jackie asked. "Probably not." Spoke one of the soldiers. He was old, by no means elderly, but he was easily in his mid forties to earlier fifties. He would've been a young man when the war happened. "Raiding parties on both sides were ruthless, and probably left plenty of old farmhouses liek that one." The soldier said. Jackie looked at the ruined farmhouse. Her eyes narrowed. She could've sworn she saw movement. "I think somethings in the farmhouse..." She said.

"Probably just an animal." Said one soldier. "This place is mostly filled with deer and the odd bear." Wilhelm looked over to it. He raised his fist and the convoy stopped. Alrick moved ahead.
"I agree with Wilhelm. Hold up here. The next path will take us into a lightly forested area. There'll possibly be an ambush. Soldiers. You two on horseback go with Wilhelm. Investigate the barn while me and Jackie remain by the barn. The soldiers nodded.
"Understood my lord." They say moving to Wilhelm. Wilhelm puffs and starts his horse moving to the barn.
"We'll curve around and check in the forest. Don't move without our signal." Wilhelm states and the convoy drivers nod. The other soldiers at the back looked around cautiously.
It took a few minutes for them to get to the old ruined buildings. Nothing could be seen from outside. There didn't even seem to be tracks leading inside or out. "From the looks of it out here, it might've just been some shifting snow." One of the soldiers said. "Think we should check inside?" He asked.

"That would be the best course of action." Wilhelm says as he dismounts his horse and walks around to the side of the building. "You two wait out front I'll check inside." He says walking in through a large chunk of missing wall. However it was hard to see inside with a mix of walls and darkness from the surprisingly intact roof. Wilhelm entered cautiously.
As with outside, the interior was empty, save for the remains of the furniture. Oddly, there were a few of what looked like glowing icicles embedded in the ground, giving the room a bit of light. The icicles were more than likely left by the Y'kish who raided the house. The glowing icicles were a fairly basic spell invented by the Y'kish. In the right environment with the right conditions the icicles could last decades.

Pulling one of the icicles from the ground Wilhelm examined it. It glowed similar to some types of crystals found in mines. Dwarves often used them for natural lighting. However the texture was ice and the icicle began to melt in his grip. The light began to fade and he dropped it into the snow shaking his hands dry he looked around a little more. Checking behind and in the pens.
Aside from the glowing icicles, the rest of the home and barn was completely empty with no signs that anyone had been to them in years.

"Anything inside Paladin?" Called one of the soldiers.
