Heya, welcome to RPR. You'll find lots of awesome people, places, things, verbs, adjectives, nouns.... you name it! Here are a few things that may help you to get started.
Find RP: is a great way to look for ads other players have put up looking for other players to join in and collab in a game that already has some seed of a plot.
LFRP: Is much the same as Find RP, but you can put up your own ad that can be seen by anyone in the applicable filters.
In both cases you can use filters to find exactly what you are looking for for your optimal RP experience. Also, don't forget about GROUPS, where you can find whole worlds to RP in with other people.

I'm a kind of long term RPer and I like food and books and plants and animals and water and tea and music and stuff. Whee! Art is also pretty great.
Uh, there's a Find RP thing up at the top, and a Help section, with a Suggestions forum! And there are In-Character and Out-Of-Character Forums and Threads and Groups and things. And there are sometimes games and events, and there are almost always lots of RPs active, and you can make your own, too!! Whee!!!!! There are lots of cool things about this site.
There's also a very nice, dear community on this site, and you can message lots of them without getting your hypothetical head torn off. Hehehe. And uhm, you can message me if you want to! I'd be happy to chat with you, and I suppose I'd do my best to answer whatever questions you might have for me. So! Uh, there are also Moderators, and a Mod Request button here and there for if you or someone like you or someone unlike you need to summon them at some point, huzzah, and they'll help solve your problem if they can. Probably. And uhhhm. Bug reports,those are a thing too: if you see something broken or messed up on the site, you can ask someone to fix it. In a manner of speaking. Anyway, I'll leave ya to it!
