Hello from across the mountains, rivers and plains. I am Vidarr the Silent, named after one of the beings from Old Norse mythology. Some may call me Ulfbane, or Vidarr the Wolfslayer, but that's a misnomer as I actually am quite fond of wolves and other animals. As a person, I study mythology and write stories based in Germanic folklore and Viking legends. I am the type of person you might meet at the medieval fair. I love prehistory, ancient history, and the medieval genre. I am particularly fond of Norse mythology, Slavic mythology, Finnic mythology, Anglo-Saxon mythology, Celtic mythology, Roman mythology and Proto-Indo-European prehistory. This ties into my interest in European prehistory, and medieval historical literature. As a storyteller, I like to be surreal, blending realistic materials and semi-historical events with an air of magic and mystery. You may often find Pagan elements in my writings, or something of a more archaic nature. While I have been known to watch epic movies, read fantasy novels or play video games, I am much more interested in studying. I like to study things like astrology, moon phases, weather, botany, survival guides, camping, forging, smithing, knowledge of plants and animals, nature magazines, camping and hunting tips, medieval warfare and ancient weapons, philosophy books, old myths and legends and stuff like that. I love nature. I love the outdoors. I like the whole idea of surviving in the land rather than on it. I enjoy a good beer, a good fire, and a good poem, song or story. I like a wide range of music with no particular favorite genre. I am a simple person with simple needs. I also like meeting new people, making new friends and hearing other people tell their own stories. I am glad to have found this forum community. Thank you for having me. I am a better writer than an actor, but I will try my best to stay in character and put on a good show while I am here. That is all I guess for now.
