Get that candy!

Posted by Kim on October 22, 2016, 10:43am

The trick or treat candy you get on the forums can be real! For every trick or treat thread you actively participate in as a guest, you'll receive a random candy accolade to decorate your profile.!

Are you hosting a trick or treat thread this year? Don't worry, we've got something for you, too.

Here's the fine print: You're eligible for candy accolades for each thread you trick or treated actively at any point during the event, meaning you kept participating at moderate levels until the mini scene was over (your character exiting counts as the scene being over), or, if you did your best but stopped receiving responses from the OP before you could complete the scene. You cannot earn candy for trick or treating your own topic, not even as an anonymous character. You must visit other people's topics to earn candy accolades.

You can earn a jack-o-lantern accolade if you host a Trick or Treat topic for at least seven days, between October 15th and October 31st. You must respond consistently to all trick or treaters until either they post leaving, the event ends, or you close your topic to new trick or treaters with a wrap-up post. If you simply stop responding before the 31st, you may be disqualified from getting a neato pumpkin! However, you are strongly encouraged to keep your Trick or Treat topic open until the end of the event.

Accolades can only be awarded on user profiles -- if you participated in the event as an anonymous character, you will receive a message asking for your permission to award the accolade.

@MugoUrth it's worth having participated in an event, playing with someone new or in an unusual situation, and a random candy accolade. :)

I only trick-or-treated once. Is that worth anything?

@Dragoncat - They will be handed out at the conclusion of this year's event. The one's you're seeing right now are the ones people got last year. :)

Um, when are the accolades handed out? I see people with them already. I have none and I've both hosted and gotten treated.

@Tailbone

I feel ya there, and I second a lot of what @rat said as well. I wasn't sure any of my characters would fit any of these types of scenes but I went ahead and tried one that I thought had the loosest restrictions and gave it a go, despite how super shy I am. ; ~ ; I'm still super embarrassed for even posting but... I'm trying to be a little braver... n.n; You might could bend your own restrictions just this once, maybe? For the candy!!! ... and fun. x3

gosh, so many this year! <3 it's really great to see some newbies hosting too!

@tailbone
public forum RP is super outta my comfort zone too, but it's a very laid-back event all in the spirit of fun, so i decided it'd be a good opportunity to challenge myself! i'm seeing people of all writing styles and post lengths, so i'm sure you'll find one which works for you. :D the candy is just an incentive to get the community to connect with each other, so the point is to come outta your shell!

Aww, but I don't do casual roleplay outside of a strict setting...

I want some candy too! ;~;

This is by far my favorite event all year, aside from epic week of course! ;) MAD is great too :P

So get out there and trick-or-treat some folks! You know you want those sweet accolades! :3
