Long time RPer here. Been at this hobby for the better part of 25 years, actually.
I'm looking to expand my venues for the hobby with another site because my old sites are getting stale. I'm hoping that this place is active and varied with its topics of roleplay, and I hope to get myself involved in some group RP soon (I'm not very much into 1x1 RPs unless it's ERP, sorry). I'm still in the midst of getting my character sheets sorted. But rest assured that they will be done soon, and I will be on the prowl for some spacey, sci-fi roleplay in the meantime. Science fiction of the intergalactic, space-faring kind is THE main genre I look for.
Hope to make some acquaintances here soon, as I RP in both vanilla and adult flavor.

One thing I think RPR is very good for is the variety and the amount of living space you can make for your character sheets. My favorite would have to be the practically infinite amount of spaces you can put down for your information. I tend to get a little carried away with it myself, but it's almost selfishly for me anyway! xD!

yeah... about that... The search function doesn't seem to work too well. I'm trying to find spacey, sci-fi groups. But their dont seem to be many... or rather, any?

As for RPR, you'll find out there's a lot of great playing opportunities, characters openings and storylines - you just have to do a bit of digging. Some people prefer playing by PM, or in groups; nonetheless, there's always lot of activity to be found, and the site itself is super user-friendly and great for showcasing your characters!

Yeah, I've been digging. lol
Still haven't struck what I'm looking for, but I check in every day to see if something turns up. Personally, I'm looking for groups. I'm still trying to get the ley of the land, here... but I'll figure it out eventually. As far as characters, I'm trying to get my latest and most focused one set up here. But trying to get the profile set up the way I have it on the Google Doc I initially created it on has proved... difficult. I'm not quite used to the site's format, so CS creation is rather clunky for me atm.
