Hey howdy all you reality non-conformists out there! I'm Dreamer, or Dream, occasionally a Nightmare 
I've been RPing on and off for years and have decided to check out this sticky blob of mind goop! I'm into all kinds of RP, from action-packed adventures to slow, casual, slice of life. I can do modern, sci-fi, fantasy, a mix, or anything else. I only really play OCs, put I do enjoy playing inside the universes of some of my favourite media. Who doesn't wish they could be a character in their favourite anime or movie? I like to think of myself as open-minded and friendly, you won't find any judgement here.
Now onto the personal stuff. I'm a student, or at least I will be once I figure out which subject to go into. I can't quite decide (my start date is February). I want to be able to live and work in Japan, and my absolute dream is to be able to nationalise. Let's see, what else...I like anime and video games, I'm a follower and on-and-off practitioner of Bushido aanndd...Uh...I have a major sweet tooth. Yum yum! You know when they say to not worry about rushing into a major? As someone who's changed it twice in a matter of three years, I agree with them! Sidenote: I hope you get to be able to follow your dream of living in Japan! I would love to stay there for a year or so myself!! What makes you wanna settle down there?

I've already started throwing myself in and filling up my character slots! (Several are also in draft mode) Though they are a bit lacking right now. The characters I'm bringing in are either new or hardly used, and I like to develop them through story
Unfortunately I don't have the option to change! It's pick what you do and you either finish it, or you don't. Either way, you pay for it. So, I have to be very sure about what I choose!
As for Japan, I've always felt connected to it ever since I was little. The language, the culture, the history, it all resonates with me. I feel I have a Japanese soul that just got placed in the wrong body. Japan is where my heart is waiting for me.

I don't know your situation, but I'll be sending vibes your way that hopefully help you to pick the right one! Up until literally that last sentence I typed up, because of my slight dyslexia? I was confusing February with September. I was like dang! They've gotta figure it out soon!

Oo! A fellow academic! I graduated myself with a near useless degree in English Writing and a minor in Journalism with a communication emphasis and let me tell you, freelance is all I get these days. I had to disparage for a while and got a basic 9 - 5, but I decided to go ahead and start taking more courses that are focused in law. But in the end, I'm like you. I have no flippin' clue what I want to do anymore. I am too tired to write a book, and too ADD to stay focused. What a predicament!
You will find RPR a huge benefit to your creative prowess! You'll have near infinite space to devise an OC to your liking and the sheer amount of diversity here will have you reeling! There are a lot of different genres to pick from so might I suggest you prod the Forums a bit to see what might interest you. And if you're itching for interaction, I highly recommend the Forum Games. It's one of my personal favorite hangouts.
I wish you all the best in finding your niche and with your academic pursuits. I hope you get to live your dream and achieve your goals. We need our happy endings, gosh darn it!
