Ok so, I've been here for a few months or so, added people I knew from a discord server, and have been basically radio silent since joining. 100% radio silent when it came to forums. So...after a good while of that, I've decided to kick my anxiety about finally speaking to the curve. Reason for the anxiety has been because I've been kind of overwhelmed by some lengths of people's writing, and several bad moments I've had with other rpers on other sites. People ghosting, despite being active, people blocking for no reason, and people being just all around crappy in general. I'm kind of self conscious about my writing, but I hope I can maybe get a few rps going here.

Sorry to hear you've had anxiety from the bad experiences as well as being intimidated by post lengths. There are a lot of people who post a variety of lengths, so hopefully you can find others that are in a range you're comfortable with.

Yes, welcome indeed! We do have a wide range of posting length preferences. I, personally (creator of the site) actually prefer shorter posts most of the time myself.

Hello Heartless Kitsune, I'm glad to see that you've decided to become active on the site and I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience you previously had. In the roleplaying communities, it is unfortunately common that people ghost and refuse to talk about loss of interest because of reasons of their own, but what matters is that you don't give up and find people who you'll call a friend and manage to create something wonderful with them.

Welcome to RPR, I am Salazar and it's lovely to meet you! This is a great site, everyone is very friendly and helpful here, so don't be afraid to ask for help or advice at any point, we've got a wonderful community of people who would be more than happy to help. But here's a few tips on getting started:- If you're looking to post a looking for roleplay post: go here. We also have a looking for adult roleplays forum, but you will need to go into your settings to be able to view that if you are 18+.
- Always make sure you address what kind of roleplay themes and writer styles you are looking for when making a LF RPs post. This prevents any misunderstandings.
- Don't be afraid to tell people if you can't respond or don't want to respond to a roleplay any more. Whether it's due to problems IRL or just a lack of motivation, we'd prefer to be told you'd like to stop the RP rather than being ghosted.
That's all from me for now, but I do hope you'll start some amazing RPs and make some awesome friends on this site!

I think scarves are a great cuddly barrier against a feeling of anxiety. Here's one for you that I thought was pretty! This is the kindest of spaces for writers and role playing creators. Not to say folks don't vanish here too, but you can stash the story away easily here and resume if your partner returns and has an explanation you feel comfortable accepting. Don't forget your scarf!

I'm glad you decided to post. I've experienced that kind of anxiety in the past, as well as some of the other things you're talking about - while that does happen rarely here (as in any RP community, sadly); I can guarantee that we don't seem to suffer too much of that.
Also, please don't let post lengths intimidate you! Generally speaking, many of us enjoy a 'quality over quantity' perspective. (That's the camp I fall into, as well!) There are also a lot of good mentors on the site, and I know I'd be willing to help if you ever wanted some advice!
That said, we also have a nice database to help you get started, as well as a listing of characters to browse through to find a match for your roleplay dreams! The 'Looking for RP' section is also great to check ads or to post your own. That said, feel free to also ask for help on the forums here - we're a nice, helpful bunch here!
